This is the only year between 1977 and 1982 that the Cowboys didn't play in the NFC Championship game (Was still the number 1 seed in the NFC this year). The team was absolutely loaded with talent

The Oilers were robbed by the officials of a TD in the AFC Championship Game, Renfro caught it in the end zone but snow obscured the sideline.

It felt like every announcer from the 70s sounded the same lol
@sunsbasketballreview6307
@sunsbasketballreview6307 2 жыл бұрын
i believe because back in the 30s-60s the mics needed the announcer to speak with a higher pitch so when it was taught to those broadcasters they spoke with a “trans-atlantic” accent to register better. when the tech got better and there was no need, most of the older, known broadcasters were taught the old school way and they kept it

If I had know about this game, I would have stay at my aunt's house and watch it with my family except one cousin. I would have went neutral but I was a kid to understand. I would not cheer for neither team. Until the end when Earl Campbell scored the winning touchdown run. I would have clapped to the Oilers for winning the Thanksgiving game.

Funny, you see all these videos "Texas State Championship" between us and the Oilers but ONLY win the Cowboys lose. This was one if the worst weeks in Cowboys history beginning with the blowout AT RFK the 4'days prior. The injuries to Charlie Waters and temporary retirement of Too Tall, Roger already,2 severe concussions...then the release of Henderson the day after Washington...the Bob Hayes prison halftime story......it was a bad week for a clearly wounded Cowboys team. That is why the MNF 1982 game @ Houston was so awesome and revenge, avenged Destroying of the Oilers does not tell half the story. I also loved how they forced us to wear our blue jerseys, the 1981-94 Cowboys blue uniforms my favorite in all of sports....I have the game worn jersey of #87 Jay Saldi that game. So why is THAT game or the1985 game, or 1970 and 1994 games not listed Texas Championship???? Oh yeah, because won.
