Won't be trying this one for a while. This was the first SRV song I heard, and the one that blew my mind and pushed me towards learning guitar. I love how he gets such amazing tone and vibrato in between blistering runs. Great lesson as always. I think it has some very interesting & unique licks and it seems to be among the less talked-about SRV songs.

Anthony, I know you have a lot cooking, but I would love to see a continuation of this series. I learned so much in just these few minutes of instruction after hitting the tab on my own. I love this song, and I think it's his most unique piece in many ways -- very playful and interesting. Especially the way he breaks up the frenetic energy with killer gradual bends, and then that cool resolution of the full step bend on the 15th 1st string followed by the 1/4 bend vibrato. So cool.

Avid supporter, learned a lot from your videos and TBA PP. Super helpful for a college kid trying to learn the blues! Love seeing that your free lesson fridays have grown so much, funny to see how it seems to start and grow from this. Thank you for all the work you have done! You've helped me grow exponentially in the past year!

Nice playing, as always.... I always wonder about what action you use with the heavy strings ?, as I find when it is too low, you are no better off, but if you have a medium action with heavy strings, it really really shines, harmonics are incredible, even with low action, I guess it's warmer and thicker than 9s, but I don't like my action low on any guitar, as it saps some of the good tone, SRV had such a high action, way more than normal, that's were he got his bif sound from

Hey Anthony, do you have any tips or tricks that prevent bent notes from being heard after they are released, especially moving through a solo?

Great lesson as always Anthony. This will kill a few hours this weekend for sure. On a side note, any chance you can put up your EQ settings as I've tried loads of different settings through my Valveking 212 on clean just using a TS9 & a Boss GE-7 & can't get that amazing tone quite right. Many thanks.

Some people say you can get a big sound just as nice with 9s, but that's with gain and OD on the tone, when you play clean, with natural overdrive, the tone is way better with 11s than it is with 9s, sure Billy Gibbons got a nice sound with 8s, but he used lots of OD, if he would have played clean like SRV, then it would sound no wear near as good, SRV used the amps overdrive, which is totally different to pedals, it responds better, tube screamer was with no gain, just a boost to push amp

I am using the following strings, 11, 15, 17, 32, 42, 54, but with the action about medium, I would like 2 have it lower, but the tone is so much better when it's not low, how have you got your action on this guitar for your SRV stuff ? my normal string size is 10. 15. 17. 28. 38. 48, on my Tele, Les Paul, and my other strat, But my SRV Signature sounds much nicer with the heavy strings, I tried 9s on it, but it sounds dreadful, that guitar was built 4 heavy strings it seem's, 10s r fine as well

Hey anthony, why do you use different guitars? From a player with 2 guitars, why is it necessarry
@adaptiveagile12 жыл бұрын
Interesting. Not to mention I never would have guessed Gibbons used 8s. Concerned about 11s because those bends at the second and third frets are just killing me with the 10s. 17th fret seems to be hard on my fingers as well for whatever reason -- perhaps need to raise my strings. Otherwise the 10s are fine until after about 2-3 hours of practicing bends. Then it's just too much for me. Really curious about those 11s.
