Impedance normally has real and imaginary part under various load frequency and resistance is normally refer to real part under DC load.

Hi Jessica after 4 years of your question I can answer :-) to keep it simple in addition to what was said , impedance has to do when you deal with varying voltage and current such your home electricity plug and resistance has to do with direct voltage and current dc.. example battery
