Man I used to watch this series when I was deployed in Iraq in 2016 and this would get me so fired up for when I got back. I was going to start this same project. I am glad I found it all these years later. I am gonna rewatch it all again before I buy my truck this Spring

@@JosephDeneen - Thanks so much for reaching out. When I make these videos I never know who is watching and if I’m helping/entertaining folks unless they comment back. So cool that you were watching from Iraq! This project is still in the works actually- life got in the way and family came first over my videos/trucks. I plan to start back up in the spring as well. Thank you for serving in our military and protecting our freedom here. I have a playlist of all the truck videos that should take you through them again. Thanks again for reaching out! Clay

Believe it or not both of them didn't get any on them, but I did... that stuff has to wear off if you don't get it off quickly with some mineral spirits. I still can't believe she jumped in there, at one point you can see her pearl necklace hanging down close to the painted surface, etc.... she just took it in stride.

another cool video as always. do you know what kind of engine/trans. you will be using on the 67.? can,t wait for more videos on the 67.
@Texasknowhow6 жыл бұрын
I have the original engine for the truck which is a 352 fe. I've already got it bored over .030 and the crank is in, the Comp Cams Cam is in. I just need to finish the rotating assembly and get the engine buttoned up. For the trans, I really want to put a 5 speed in it, but that is not bought yet...

i was just wondering. i may have missed you talking about it. you might want to check out another you-tuber . his name is TheCraig909. he put i believe a tko 5 speed in his 71 f-100. but his is a 302. he might be able to answer any questions about the swap. i sure do hope that Dallas beats the snot out of seattle on sat. nite

Im loving these videos, ive watched all 15 episodes in preparation for the work im beginning to do on my 71 F100. Which mustang gas tank did you buy for the rear gas tank and what made you choose it over other fuel cells? Thanks for your time and videos! They have been a huge help!!
@Texasknowhow6 жыл бұрын
Hey Justin!, Glad the videos are helping you out and that you've enjoyed them as well... I bought a fuel tank for a '67 Mustang from ebay. I chose this one for a couple of reasons. 1.) it fit between the frame rails (pretty much) and it's from the same year vehicle as my truck. 2.) it is thinner, top to bottom, than some others (even other Mustang years) and that keeps it from hanging down too low. I don't like the tank to show from the back of the truck. It is a little less fuel on board; I think this one is a 16 gal. vs. some of the deeper ones which are 23-25 gal. Hope this helps. Clay

Have you decide how to make gas fill tube yet?
@Texasknowhow5 жыл бұрын
Eric Teeter - Yes, I’m going to make a trap door in the bed that lifts up on a hinge. You may have seen these on other projects on KZbin.
@okjd1595 жыл бұрын
@@Texasknowhow I thought you would use the corner of the bed add fill tube & vent that way you don't have to empty the bed. Yours is a lot easier to complete.
@Texasknowhow5 жыл бұрын
Eric Teeter - Yeah Eric, that is a draw-back of the method I’m using. It’s just so direct to the tank and hides really well. Didn’t want to over complicate it either.

Hey Clay.. welcome back.. I've been checking in every now and again hoping to see you. I would like to know what brake booster and master cylinder you are using. I have followed everyone of you videos, I sourced out a crown vic front subframe and an explorer rear end but not sure what brake booster and master cylinder I should be looking for.. any ideas?Jim
@Texasknowhow6 жыл бұрын
Jim G - Hey Jim! That is a good question. My ‘67 had a power brake set up on it when I bought it but since everything will be new (ish), I may opt for a CPP unit. Several folks have gone this route with our set up and loved it. We’ll need a proportioning valve as well to set the front/back bias. I’ll try to discuss these options in an up coming video.
@REVNUMANEWBERN6 жыл бұрын
BTW, Clay, are you going to remove the large brackets that's connected to the cross member? I removed mine and will use bolts in the cross member to aid in trans removal in future,
@Texasknowhow6 жыл бұрын
I think mine is in with bolts now... maybe a prior owner did that. I think I'm going to try and keep it in there to help with the frame twist. The way the cab is mounted on those other brackets puts a twisting motion on the frame if this cross member is removed all together. I've even seen folks remove it and weld in exhaust holes so the exhaust can be kept up tight vs. having to go under it.

What kind of paint did you use on the frame
@Texasknowhow5 жыл бұрын
road_warrior_ ss It’s called POR-15. Follow all the instructions and it will serve you well. Anything that will be exposed to the sun should also be top coated after a week or so. POR-15 doesn’t have any UV protection so it will deteriorate within a year and look dry and not protect the metal anymore. Used with a proper top coat, it halts all rust and does super well. Also, there is no saving this paint once opened, so there are a few options. Be ready to do everything in one sitting or buy the little 6 pack of small cans. I did the latter and it worked out nice. I’ll try to add a link in the video description if I haven’t already.
