Loved your video! I thought I was the only one with a frustrating, life-long hair journey. My hair has always been curly, but it’s uneven curls on different parts of my head (wavy on top and ringlets on the bottom). I finally found my style, which is to wear it up and use a curling iron to tame it. You are beautiful however you wear your hair. Just sayin’!

For future reference definitely start at the base of your hair then start applying it to the rest so your roots aren’t super puffy and your ends are more processed. Also there will be those spots that won’t really be as texturized 😂 just gotta apply products to that part first the next time you do a touch up

These hair struggles that black women experience really come from discrimination especially in America & trends. If Afro were a trend again; you wouldn’t even be feeling like this but honestly our hair is made to turn into anything we want it to be. I’m not against texture reconstruction it’s just the health risks of the products that became the reason for such disdain & like historical societal prejudice and pressure to be accepted in society. Over time we just need to re-create cosmetics treatments & procedures for natural hair that target & cure the root issue of damage & unmanageability of our hair sometimes. We are constantly creating topical products instead of conducting more research & whoever in our community is talented in science & medicine; creating professional systemic medical solutions to any possible vitamin deficiencies specifically that black people are prone to whether it’s regarding our hair’s struggle to adjust to different climates, water filtration, skin conditions affecting hair health, food allergies, etc. We keep creating temporary products & pressuring ourselves to have a certain hair texture. Our problem is both psychological & also health & lifestyle wise sometimes. Hopefully over time we understand that we create soo many trends & that we collectively at any moment can decide to change literally every trend to benefit US & stop trying to assimilate to a certain texture or “feel” of hair. Black hair is so policed in European dominated parts of the world & it has even created internalized hostility within our own communities as well & regardless of how strong anyone is mentally; I understand sometimes how it can make even the strongest person throw in the towel to adjust to this very unnatural societal system for black women and honestly women in general. Over time I hope we develop medical solutions & procedures that will not involve cancer causing chemicals topically applied on the hair but maybe instead some kind of laser hair & scalp reconstruction or stem cell/blood cell transplant/therapy to help cure issues like lack of density, thickness, length, and volume. Research by examining CBC & vitamin levels of black women with long & healthy hair with more balanced moisture on willing participants & comparing or checking for any vitamin deficiencies & IV treatments or medications that can permanently reduce damage & balance moisture & elasticity.

You're still NATURAL, just no longer as textured as 4c. So let's just say you de-texturized. You are beautiful, your hair is beautiful and you can still treat it and keep it healthy without having the deep textures.
@maej.
@maej. Ай бұрын
Her hair is no longer “natural”. The term “natural” refers to how your hair NATURALLY grows out of your scalp. When you permanently alter your hair with a chemical like relaxers and texturizers to loosen the curl pattern, your hair is no longer natural because that wasn’t how it grew out of your scalp. I’m not saying her altered hair isn’t beautiful but I’m just telling you not to lie like that.

I think that there should be a law for women and children that they don’t have to work or pay for literally anything in society lol because that’s what it really is. The school & work cycle just isn’t women & children friendly lol If women never had to worry about money they would have the time & patience to take care of their hair and live a lifestyle that is best for their overall health. When you have to worry about constantly having to get to school or work at a specific time; this is what’s creating a lot of our problems. But it’s also the pressure we put on ourselves especially in America. We simply just can’t let go of the self limiting beliefs about how our hair should be acting or look & then the ignorance in our communities that affect women don’t help either. But honestly; all modern women struggle with this. & women of other cultures & races experience similar issues. U.S. girlies just can’t make up our mind & can never make up how we want to look. The queens struggle with shrinkage & dryness a lot & our hair can’t handle hair dye like the Beckie’s , the Beckie’s struggle with lack of volume & over dying their hair because they want something different but their hair can’t handle the weaves & braids & etc. like ethnic hair can & their hair can only handle only a few certain kinds of hair extensions can so color is sometimes their only way of spicing things up & playing with self expression as women. I know sometimes we think our hair has so much struggle but in reality our hair is the strongest and can handle the most and has the most versatility and higher threshold before breaking or falling out & getting damaged. None of us women can really make up our minds when it comes to how we want to look. Women with long hair want to cut it and women with short hair want to grow it long. lol All of us women from all walks of life and nationalities, race, culture, etc. just can never make our mind up ❤☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️ it’s a gift & a curse.
