Just got my old phone LG V30, old battery replaced. Just installed TextNow. I had a phone # in less that 2 mins. And YES it works without a SIM card. Tested it, it works fine.

Don't waste your money on the sim card, It's a scam. I tried it in all four of my unlocked phones and it worked in one, the oldest and it dropped calls after 30 seconds.. it's crap. Also. You can only communicate with a chatbot. And it is no help at all. For a company whose business is communication... it is really lousy at it

I started with free TN a few years back, bought their SIM when it was a $1, now it's my secondary number used for work or when I don't want to give out my Mint number. I never used their data plans, seems way too much for the amount you get. I used the SIM in my Redmi Note 9S but for some reason it turns off mobile data now and then making me miss calls and texts. I also had dropped calls when placed on hold for extended periods of time. 40 bucks for 10GB? Pass, I'll be starting my 60GB Unnecessary Mint plan in a month, for that amount, with 20GB hotspot. Hopefully that plan comes back next year when it's time to renew.

I'm getting it, got a great phone that's getting a new battery. I won't be getting the SIM card because it won't be leaving the house. Just using wifi. That works for me.

The textnow sim card allows for access to free essential data, which aside from allowing you to make calls and texts without needing to be connected to wifi, it also allows you to have access to some internet access , just you will be limited to what you can do. I'm able to leave this message to your question without wifi because I have properly installed TextNows sim card that allows free calling and texting and there free essential data allowing some internet access .

@@playboymaxim Technically neither is TextNow it's an AD based model that only gives you 1gb of data. SafeLink is free TextNow cost money after the 1gb is gone.
