I wish all barbers are like this. Like they would stop and confirm if that’s what their clients want. All barbers just go *zippppppppppp* and their clients would leave the shop unsatisfied and never returning again.

I always talk and find out what my customers want before I start cutting. I never assume my customers haircut.

I think that this is the essence of barbering, a dialogue with the client and a continous explanation of the work and a co-costruction of the haircut. The costumer is happy and the work is great! Nice job!

That’s basically what I do at the hair salon & as long as the cummunication is 100% the same and correctly right both ways, I cums out exactly how I asked for it. It also helps to use a ruler and explain things. Thu/04/28/2021 at 18:06 EDT2

You are right on,,, it's because usually they don't actually know any other styles of haircuts,and are very limited,, also all about just getting them in and out,,,,, Money Money Money!!! As a professional myself,, I know and see it all the time,, they talk the dude right out of their idea of what they want,,, because they haven't any idea as to how to even begin the cut. That he continually asked if that was what his guest wants is the epitome of professionalism. So often barbers and stylists will impose their will onto their guests and then the stylist is surprised when that customer doesn’t return to them. Keep up the great videos. I stopped going to the barber or hairdresser because I felt like I often paid for their imposed vision on my hair. It's difficult to tell them what you want, and often they just dismiss it or convince you that they know how it will look the best. So I just started doing in myself and I take my time and go gradually get to what I want. Saved me a lot of money. I use this as a guide. Best video.

I was a long-haired man from 19 years old (in 1968) until 61 years old when I went Bald By Choice (in 2009). I have been bearded except for a couple of brief relapses since about August, 1997. I have watched Beardbrand for probably ten years now for beard information only since I have had no scalp hair since before it became a thing. I have to say that this young man’s haircut is probably the best one I have ever seen that I really liked on this channel! I really do NOT like the skin fade style at all! It’s All or NOTHING, Grow it or Shave it, for me.

This cut really showcases this kids perfect natural light/dark color and is so technically perfect for how someone with a lot of hair but fine texture can rock " a lot of hair" for his smaller head:face. Because I for one think the guy looked better "before". And it's a barbers job to tell the customer "are you sure, you would look better in this or that". What we think we want may not be the best option because we're not aware of all the potential styles . Show him some pictures, If the client insists then then OK, do the thing he wants.

Siergiej Schmidt The barber was telling him he should have went shorter at the start. The guy didn't want to go down to a 3. I would be the same, it's difficult going from length to a tight cut at the sides. The customer is always right and the barber did everything based on the what the customer wanted. Simple.

seriously. Its what the CUSTOMER want's not what the barber thinks would look better. Unless it clearly wouldn't look good on that person, they could suggest something else. but in the end you do what the customer wants.

I think the point people are missing is that the customer said he was having shots taken (probably an actor). He wanted to appear natural, not fresh out of the barbers. The barbour can only give what the client wants, right?

I now know the name of the haircut that looks best on my son. I tried to recreate it on my son and for being fairly new at doing slight fades, I think I did a good job for a French crop. My son is happy. 😊 I need to invest on better scissors and buzzer … professional equipment. I used the buzzer on the sides and scissors on the top.

I think it turned out great...as someone else said on here the client had a hard time explaining, or even understanding, what he actually wanted. The barber did a great job, a lot of people out there would've run a #1 up his sides without even thinking about it. Great communication and great cut! 👍👍

I love this hairstyle. Part of me is always nervous about it though because, when i was in elememtary school, i remember the kids calling it a bowl-cut lol. He wanted bit longer on side but he says 4 and then tries to go even shorter by saying my heart says 3. It’s what customer wants, u can’t push him..only recommend. Go longer like he says and then go short if he wants.
