hi there! okay so questions....I made a plaster art piece, and followed your video instructions. howeverrrr, mine didn't turn out the same lol...in terms of hardness. my fabric isn't hard, it's still like soft and flimsy. I did notice that when I was sanding it down the plaster kept breaking off? so maybe that's why. anyways, ive been trying to find a way to harden the fabric lol...please please if you have any suggestions let me know :) also if you need a picture of it I can message you on instagram! thanks so much and yours look amazing!

These are sooo cool. You've inspired me to use this texture for some compositions that I have in mind. I have a question though. Let's say that you don't want to tuck the fabric behind the canvas and you're making a composition that will have a design border, would you just use glue to secure the fabric to the canvas? If so, what glue do you recommend?

Hey Lisa! For just plaster, no sheet I think this account on IG is a reference @gia.marie.art it seems like she layers super thick plaster (almost like clay) and sands it down to look like fabric. But for the fabric on the large pieces. I did the same as the video - very very watery plaster so I have the flexibility to move it into shape. Let it dry for a day and then I started to add thicker layers on plaster over it

Plaster! You can find it at any hardware or craft store. I have it linked with the name in description

It can be any color. The plaster layers add up and it should be the color of the plaster

Can this be done with sheet that have a pattern or will the plaster cover it up?
@NoritaGharib

With enough layers of plaster I think it would cover up any pattern
@jacquishepperd4964
@jacquishepperd4964 Жыл бұрын
If you wanted to keep the pattern, mix elmers glue and water to harden the creation, more layers can be added as Nora did with the plaster layers.

Does it need to be rock hard/ super thick layer of plaster before you sand it ? Mine is completely dry but I feel like if I push it slightly too hard it’ll loose shape?
@NoritaGharib
@NoritaGharib Жыл бұрын
I made sure mine was super thick before sanding. I like it thick enough to withstand the push down. I don’t do it super hard but it’s strong enough that I don’t worry while sanding

Hello, my wife had a piece like these she commissioned and it was damaged during delivery. The artist won’t fix her work. Do you by chance do any repair work or know anyone who does? We’re located in Dallas, TX
@NoritaGharib
@NoritaGharib Жыл бұрын
I do not unfortunately, but it’s super unfair the artist won’t fix it! Is it possible to touch it up with your own plaster?

Thank you for sharing your technique dear! ❤️ Many would not...have been trying to learn this for so long and I'm definitely going to try this.. I will be moving to a rental apartment in the coming month.. will this art work be heavy enough for command strips?
@NoritaGharib
@NoritaGharib Жыл бұрын
Omg you’re so welcome!! I’m excited for you to try it!! Congratulations on the move. The large pieces are definitely too heavy for command strips. I have them hung using drywall screws. For the smaller canvas I used a nail and it holds up pretty well
