A simple guide talking about different aiming styles in tf2.
Note that some people may call these aiming styles differently.
Also don't hate this video if you didn't become a plat sniper in half a second, you're just being an idiot ._.
Be sure to leave a like if you enjoyed.

@Nickbro101
@Nickbro101 6 жыл бұрын
It's more so a warning, watch out that you're not forgetting to pay attention to where you flick. Aiming past the target is just a common trait that people have when try to let timing do everything which is much more unreliable compared to simply learning to aim.

There is also a type of aiming i see a lot of people doing, i just don't know how to do it. Like, they just keep aiming up (also down) (and also spinning around sometimes) and they kill mostly everyone really easelly. What is it called and how can i do it?
@sebasteray5474
@sebasteray5474 6 жыл бұрын
That is actually flick+track. Usually work From far distance you flick or over flick without shooting and track to get perfect aim then shoot so sometimes it will look like a circle or a zigzag (just like aimbot identifying the head hit box). I use this a lot not recommended if your sensitivity is too high or you muscle memory is poor

So.I was playing a few matches of Casual tf2 a few days ago and there was this very good Sniper in the enemy team who always seemed to hit his shots, going up to 15 kills in a row. I played against him for three rounds, after the map change only one round before I changed in the other team to avoid playing against him.Today I thought: "Hmm, let's look up some Sniper tutorials, because I am a horrible Sniper". I added a few videos to my Watch Later playlist and have just watched yours. Through half of the video I thought back to the matches with the good Sniper destroying me and my team.Before I finally noticed your name in the killfeed (in the video mind you). Somehow it did not klick when I saw your intro, and for half of the video, it didn't either.But then... It was actually you whom I played against for these two matches a few days back. You had an Aussie Rifle with roughly 850 kills on it. Completely unrelated, I found your tutorial and even thought back to the matches while watching it, oblivious to the fact that you actually are that sniper I so "admired".Maybe you remember me, my Steam name was "yeah you guess" and I played Mini Engie and Soldier, I remember killing you a few times with a Kritzkrieg uber and actually complementing you in chat. Still can't believe it.Very good tutorial, I will use it to my best! :)

1:07 to put it in short, if you turn this off, you are able to find a "set move" to practice your aim on, where you previously wouldn't be able to because it always changes. I also can't believe I have been playing this game for so long just to realize there is a proper way to play it... by turning that feature off, so I should probably thank you regardless because, heck, I wouldn't know better. I literally died for the past 5 years playing this game without acknowledging such "useful" mouse features.

I actually use the strafing technique with sniper. It helps can you semi-unpredictable; harder to hit for any enemy player. I play almost exclusively 2Fort, so there isn't much for cover or sneaky spots for a sniper to dig in. Someone is always looking for you. They will find you. And they *will* kill you. Strafing as a sniper would help much against more experienced snipers, that can easily pick up on your movement patterns, but will help against lesser snipers and stray bullets/explosives.

strafing also helps with pyro as you can just circle and enemy whilst flaming them
@Nickbro101
@Nickbro101 6 жыл бұрын
Strafing aim involves you just letting your mouse rest in pretty much the same spot while the main bulk of your aim comes from your strafing keys. Pyro's can't really do this, especially when circling around opponents. What you're thinking off is tracking aim with strafing to dodge.

With demo you should of included something called arc/ trajectary aiming you try to find the right spot to aim your pills as demo! So you have to aim above the player more the further away he/ she is! Also aiming in the direction he's or she's going!

Try to focus on one at a time then and improve on that first. Afterwards do the same for a different style. You might naturally notice after you switch that some type of shots become harder then before and others become easier. That way you can tell yourself what the strengths and weaknesses are of a style.

Amazing video! very well explained but I have to disagree about snapping being a lucky shot as my 2 most used aiming "styles" are flicking and snapping, I think they are pretty much the same except that when you snapp instead of moving your crosshair back to it's original location (like you demonstrated) or stoping at the targets head you keep the motion going. (sorry about bad grammar and punctuation english is not my first language)
@Nickbro101
@Nickbro101 7 жыл бұрын
I don't think you understood what snapping actually meant. Snapping is when you move your mouse quickly in the general direction of the target and you try to let timing do the thing. This is inconsistent and thus luck based because you aren't trying to put your crosshair at a set distance for the shot which causes the speed and timing of your aim to be very different every time even when the target is an equal amount of pixels away from your crosshair. The reason why I mention the crosshair position is because it's a common trait to have when snapping, it should be seen as a way of saying "pay attention to your aiming, don't slack off". It's perfectly possible that you flick after a flickshot in the same direction as you were first moving. With flicking though the most common habit I've seen is the one where people move their corsshair back. TLDR: Snapping is about not paying attention to the distance you move your mouse. Moving your mouse past the target is a warning that you might be doing it.

Of course I can't exactly tell what you're doing but judging by how you typed this I think this is a case of poor practice. You are trying to find info on how to improve and doing general practice routines but you fail to find what part of sniping you actually suck at. It's easy to see that you're failing at something but only if you break down your failures then you can find improvement. Instead of saying "I suck at this." say "Why am I sucking at this?". If you can figure out what part is giving you trouble then you can find ways to improve on that part.
