Well, if you look more closely at what they actually typed, they were admitting that they got out-skilled. They typed "you're definitely nto cheating". What does that mean? Well "nto" isn't a word. And it doesn't stand for any sequence of words either. On the other hand, "not" is in fact a word, and it's really easy to accidentally type "nto" when you meant to type "not". So my personal take on it is that they meant to type "you're definitely not cheating", but they messed it up and didn't check it before they sent it.

Your crits are very inconsistent because unlike backstabs that can be done in a 180 degree angle, backburner only crits in a 90 degree angle. This is definitely better than having half your fucking hitbox being a crit target but 90 is too small

And the player model doesn't reflect the hotboxes. Like the heavy with a shotgun has his back turned a little bit, but that's only his player model. You have to imagine he's standing straight up to hit his back. So kind of aim at his shoulder

As a pyro main, i like this loadout. This is all geared towards flanking, with the backburner to reward excellent positioning, the thruster to attain that positioning, and the scratcher to keep you topped off by any health&ammo spot. As for the pyro tip at the beginning, i think it’s implying that you should prioritize taking ammo packs from dead foes over ammo packs at spawn points when and where possible. Dont want to fuck over any engies, especially as pybro

Pyro was created with laggy People in mind, also backburner has a 90 degree crit range, while backstabs have somewhere around 180 degrees

Which doesn't make any sense since back is literally 180° of your... well... back? While bacjstabs are about damaging spinal cords, which are tiny compared to size of backs. They must swap degrees so both backstaps and backburns would look normal

As a main of this loadout the more mediums and blind jumps the map has the better this loadout gets, such as Borneo which is incredible on defense due to blu being at a height disadvantage and lots of medium health packs everywhere. The loadout played optimally is extremely hard to play against due to how there's basically no counterplay to a pyro who's always behind you unless the pyro is poor or spammy with airblasts or you predict their shenanigans. You can't chase him down due to the jetpacks mobility and he's probably already at full HP by the time you spot him. Though there is one true counter to this and its sentries. One bullet kills the jetpacks momentum and the pyro can't deal with them effectively as he's forced into close range.

I am sure you are better at it than me. I have been trying this on uncle topia and what keeps fucking me is just good scouts. Without as secondary and with the knock back you take in the air they seem impossible to deal with. Having slightly better luck with using dragons fury instead of back burner but then you are worse against soldiers.

So, around the 15:15 mark, when that "etn" player said "you're definitely nto cheating" there's something that I as a native English speaker can tell you about English being typed out on a keyboard. Mistakes happen all the dang time. When they typed "nto", what they meant wasn't "into", instead, they simply mistyped "not" by accidentally hitting the T before the O instead of the other way around, and they probably didn't check what they typed before they sent it. In other words, they were saying "you're definitely NOT cheating".

Fun fact: the Backburner used a +10% damage bonus (which I believe should make a return) and no air blast much like the current day phlog. The Backburner only crits when at a 90° angle to the players melee hit box model, meaning the literal term *BACK*burner, unlike the spy who has a 180° back stab radius. This is why you hear of face stabs and not face burns.

The Fire in the Sky method. The Spanish Flyro, or the Fireworks. This is my favorite Pyro loadout when it comes to team fights. Weakening the enemy team, catching medics and heavies off-guard is great, but the Backburner is so damn incosistant I KNOW I have classes dead but the crits don't happen, and they turn around and melt me, while in other instances, they'll turn slightly away from me and just back into a crit flame. It's frustrating how many times I died or killed when I shouldn't have.

I use this loadout often on maps with high skyboxes, except I use powerjack instead of the Back Scratcher for that extra mobility which i prefer since what you're doing is already going to typically get you killed as it is, so extra health from health packs doesn't help as much as being able to run away a little faster, plus a swing of the powerjack can also heal you if it kills an enemy too close to you/random crits a cloaked spy. To be fair the back scratcher has seemed to prove useful on Badwater though

Hey, this is something I do! I call it the suicide pyro. I use the Phlog, Jetpack and powerjack to get to the enemy lines rapidly and try to do as much damage before I either kill all of them and have a ton of mmph stored up...or I die. The latter was more than likely to happen

the reason the backburner and other back crit weapons seems to have a mind of their own is because the hit box registration is too forgiving for spy's backstab. its a full 180 degree for spy against a super narrow 90 degree for other weapons. also spy can backstab from bellow and above players while back crit weapons dont. think like that, spy is so bad it needs a handicap to be viable. but I think they need to rework back crit registration for weapons too, and maybe 120 degree instead of 90. oh and pls fix melee registration, every time you hear hit sound that dont register is so frustrating. I loved the video, you are my fav TF2 youtuber nowadays :)

Oh and I use degreaser, axtinguisher, reserve shooter. It's an older meta loadout, and it doesn't work nearly as well as it used to, but it still works pretty well if you can just set them on fire.

While the jetpack can be fun in its current state I wish it was reworked. It's power should be decreased and it should be more responsive (it doesn't do the weird jump) and you should be able to activate it without pulling it out. In a game with the insane mobility of the scout and soldier, I don't think it is bad to make pyro be able to jump around every once in a while. Perhaps he would finally be more of a generalist, as he should be.

The 'back' angle on crits, and mini-crits, on weapons that aren't the Spy's knives just feel small. It's a 90 degree angle but it's not consistent on what is defined as the player's back. Spy knives having a 180 degree angle for backstabs is also too big and is part of the reason why facestabs exist (the other is just stuff on the server's side of things). Definitely something that needs to be tweaked... for the other weapons, at least. Though making Spy mains angry by reducing the angle for backstabs would be hilarious, even by just 5 to 10 would throw them off badly. Especially the ones that crutch on doing trickstabs on bad players*. I'd say if you do this again, try the Dragon's Fury. At least it has a crit mechanic that isn't finicky to deal with. *Before anyone says anything on this. I do have a problem with Spies... but the backstabs isn't it. It's mostly the Diamondback and it being straight up superior to the Ambassador. Both weapons do need tweaks so that they have their uses.

Main Pyro take on Backburner: Unbalanced because it gives out the same damage enemy's front. Especially unbalanced against Pyros that don't really have projectiles to be reflected (except flares that are horrible in Pyro 1v1s and hard to reflect and connect). To be balanced, the Backburner needs a downside that isn't related to airblast cost or afterburn damage as those don't come into play against Pyros. It could be fixed with reduced frontal damage or user being more vulnerable to fire.
