I once had a casual match on 2fort and I ended up getting bored, so I decided I would whip out the minigun and never unrev, no matter what. It ended up reaching the point where there would be 5 fully rev'd snail crawling heavies would just infiltrate the enemy base and instantly vaporize anything that entered our sightline

Brass beast shines if you have enough positional awarenes and prioritise the right targets. Its a bad choice for offensive plays, but it can shred on defence.

@@tohg7.859 I mean that's what you should do anyway if you don't have a reason to retreat. In my experience the brass beast is *worse* when holding one spot like a sentry, because even though you have more cover to hide behind, so do your enemies, and the movement speed doesn't let you deal with corner peaking well. Meanwhile the resistance bonus helps you survive when you plant yourself in the open and get in a damage race with multiple enemies.

I actually believe the brass beast is one of the higher tier miniguns if used on defense since you're role isn't anchor on a moving object or be constantly moving forward, but to stay in place and hold the line. Thus minimizing the impact of the movement penalties.

What I love about the brass beast is that in MvM, if you buy all 3 ticks of blast resistance and rev with the brass beast you can survive a sentry buster explosion. But you need all 3 ticks of blast res and you need to be practically full hp, so instead of running away sometimes you can just keep firing and survive.

Playing heavy slowly makes you take his large health pool for granted, and mostly when you die its because of getting overwhelmed or just making stupid decisions, but after using the brass beast along with dalokohs I've come to the conclusion that I never really had enough hp. Now that my effective total health 495 while dalokohs is active, I've truly come to understand the shortcomings of stock heavy and have newfound respect for people who can actually play heavy using any minigun other than the brass beast.

"One of Heavy's worst primary weapons" my ass. I've topscored with this thing on payload offence and any defence match more times than I can count. There is no greater feeling than sitting on the cart as a near unstoppable force that never ceases firing, singlehandedly causing the rest of your team to push alongside you as you completely wipe out a troublesome sentry nest in about 2 seconds flat. The raw power you feel as you completely clear out a point on defence is unmatched. Easily one of my favorite miniguns.

Brass Beast is genuinely a great weapon on defense. Depending on the map, I often equip it when defending and on certain maps you can hold a choke down with little effort (and a medic).

the brass beast truly makes heavy a slow but POWERFUL force that can kill even a sentry with ease when revved and even if you catch him off guard theres always the shotgun (or in my case the family business) to quickly take you out since your probably a scout for the ambush not to mention the thing can easily make heavy destroy entire unguarded nests of sentries its like a superior sentry killing everything plus movement even if slow and if done right the enemy team is fucked also works with gru and medic for a overheal = sprint type thing i tend to do

At first I was thinking "noooo you will get outmaneuvered or killed by a big group of players or get dominated by snipers or medic combos" but after seeing you deal with all of those problems without a medic pocketing you, I realized I could play heavy just as reliably as soldier or demo. Mabye you shouldn't play heavy braindead. Edit: my playstyle in any game with combat is usually akin to stealth/infiltration or guerilla warfare, and it might be a good strategy for this
