The engineer just needs something to distinguish himself. Some kind of medieval building would be interesting - maybe a small catapult, or a spring for mobility as another commenter said. It's not like valve is ever going to update the game again but it's fun to imagine.

If i had to guess it would either be: A crossbow sides automatic balista witch would shoot slower than a normal sentry but would deal more damage A catapoult which could shoot over walls A canon which would fire slower, deal more damage and explode on hit

I do wish they'd give Engineer something in medieval mode, like a big ol' spring to scale walls that takes all his metal to build, for example. That way there'd be both something to do, and he'd feel a bit more like a siege engineer

@atomnum9 anvil dispenser and some barriers. The map used vscript to fully rebalance medieval mode, it was fun! unfortunately, it used a 4 cp attack defend format that felt tedious, and most changes were still in rudimentary stages.

I don't know man, people keep saying pyro volcano axe is useless in medieval. But I keep getting dead rang spy with it. And keep making non katana demo run away after they just got hit once. Lot of time I defend the point by standing outside and bite anyone ass that poke out. But apart from cool looking animation with the robohand, enginee really is canine doodoo in medieval, only the holyshit how it is alway crit from the default wrech make me back off the the bot enginee a bit.

I wonder what could be done to give Engi something to do here. Without giving him the ability to build a catapult or something that is. The Short Circuit would give him a good niche but it doesn't fit the setting. Maybe just a flat 25 health boost? 2x cap rate? I'm not sure.

@@duncanchillake8024 Yeah but that doesn't mean Pyro is bad, just outclassed:he can still one shot soldiers and demoknights with random crits and get back to the fight almost instantly from small healthpacks. I could even say that I would rather have team of Pyros than Scouts in medieval as outside of capping Scout don't do much.

You wonder what would happen if Engineer’s Dispensers and Teleporters were allowing in Medieval Mode? Not the Sentry, since that would be very unfair in this game mode.

The teleporter would be overpowered because the enemies have to get close to damage it. The engineer could outheal melee damage and telefrag them. Dispensers are fine, their high health and good healrate makes them a problem but ammo is useless and health packs are everywhere. The dispenser would be broken with huntsman snipers, especially on the roof of the castle.

Overall you went easy on Engi lol, I would've put Wrench and Jag in F tier, since they don't improve his combat prowess at all and he's already weak in melee combat.
