How it works is every time you shoot, the game generates a random number from 0 to 9999. If that number is less than or equal to a certain value, the shot is a crit. This value defines your crit chance (e.g. 500 means 5% crit chance). The value is then set to a base value plus a coefficient multiplied by your damage dealt in the past 20 seconds. Note that for knives, sniper rifles, and weapons with the "no random critical hits" stat, the threshold value is always set to 0. For some reason, crits happen even when the random number matches the threshold, so there is actually a 0.01% chance for these weapon to randomly crit.

@S S the main thing that drives them away is the high skill ceiling demanded by the game, even though casual is not that bad tbh. It demands you to experiment, albeit its pretty bad at giving good tips like youtube videos. Even with FPS experience, i didnt really get into it mostly because of my shitty prediction skills with soldier and demoman, this is while not even mentioning the punishing death cooldown placed on you by a single mistake. It takes commitment to get into this game, but I dont say i regret it at all.

I took Spanish between 7th and 12th grades, and I also took two Spanish courses at my community college about a year and a half ago, though I dropped the second one. Living in California, there's a lot of people who speak Spanish, and I want to be able to understand and join those conversations, but I also want to see the Latinoamerican side of the internet and interact with Mexicans and Chileans because they seem like cool guys. "pendejo" = "asshole/jerk" "culo" = "ass" "puto" = "dumbass" "puta" = "bitch" "puta madre" = "motherfucker" "cabrón" = "bastard" "culiao" = "fucker" (Chilean) "aweonao" = "idiot" (Chilean) "tula" = "penis/dick" (Chilean) And some other rude words/phrases I learned (again, translated from memory): "bolas" = "balls" "cojones" = "testicles" "imbécil" = "imbecile/idiot" "mecos" = "jizz" "agachate y conocelo" = "get down and meet 'it'" ('it' referring to penis) I also know the slang word(s), "weón" (Chilean), and "güey," which are something like "dude" or "bro/bruh" in English, in being a term of endearment or a low-level insult shared between friends. Finally, I heard once that in Spanish, "bastardo" is usually taken literally in referring to a son born out of wedlock and doesn't carry the same insulting connotation as in English, and that in Spanish they say "malparido" which literally means "miscarried," but has the same intention as calling someone "bastard" in English...
