it's a bit more complicated than that the loose cannon is listed as having a bigger hitbox on the code, however since the code from it is based on the stock grenade launcher it ends up having the same hitbox as the stock because of inheritance hijinks the iron bomber code on the other hand wasn't based on the stock and had it's own custom code, which allowed it to inherit the values of the projectile model instead (which was also not intended, it should have the stock hitbox)

In my experience, you give up the consistent and immediate damage of the other grenade launchers for a spammable cannon with high-ass damage potential. It's a fun sidegrade and pairs well with the Quickie in my opinion.

there are 2 more uses other than the ones you mentioned that I like to do with the coconuts gun™: -sidewards 90° corner peaking sentry destruction (amazingly effective if you can time the explosion right) -demoaxe on the backline with the tide turner (air acceleration isn't ground acceleration so you still fly at mach 10 and big axe = funny crits) btw nice video

The cannonballs consistently detonate at the exact same distance as long as you release the charge consistently. It is PLAYER inconsistency that causes the loose cannon to be difficult to aim and that can be trained away.

In my eyes, like the loch n load, its arguably a downgrade from stock as a normal demoman, but a pretty good choice on hybrid knight Loch n Load helps with sentries with the increased damage against buildings Loose Cannon can help against pyro's since charge it right and airblasting will result in it exploding on them

I generally pair the loch n load with a sticky jumper either using the katana or the scotsman's skullcutter. SS for random crit boost and damage, and the katana for when I want to be cheeky and get some health back. The katana combo surprisingly works in my favor somehow.

@@silverdededestruction2197 When you think about it, the Half Zatoichi (at least on demoman) is the most well rounded weapon for so many loadouts, seriously, it works with all three shields, it works as demoknight or hybridknight, it works as a meme-ish weapon and it even has a decent use with a normal demoman loadout

@@Nameless_Cat_IsAGoodGame I've found a lot of use using the Half-Zatoichi with Soldier as well It's best utilized with all the banners because of both the passive and active benefits. The Buff Banner giving mini-crits bumps up the number of classes you can kill in two swings granting you more opportunities to get some health The Concheror is great for the passive self-healing, but it's also good when you activate the banner for the health steal and speed boost. My favorite combo has to be with the Battalion's Backup. the extra health also gets added to the health you get from kills, and the fact that your defense increases and become immune to crits helps you survive a shit ton of enemy fire, and lets you rampage pretty hard with your team. as you make them far more sturdier

I'm - among other things - a sound designer, and I thought a little about why the Double Donk sound effect is so satisfying. In short, I think the Double Donk sound effect either has someone saying Double Donk, or the percussive elements have been carefully picked and placed so that they sound like there's someone saying double donk. On top of that, the short crash cymbal we hear at the peak of the effect, layered with some kind of a wonky string glide, makes for a very distinct finish for the sound effect. Whoever created it, did some fun hijinks to come up with that sound. Also, the Batman-esque Donk x2 sign helps!

Back when I still actually played TF2 competitively, I used to run the Loose Cannon as often as I could without my team yelling at me. I can say firsthand, the loose cannon is very far from being bad by any stretch of the imagination. On most maps, it's a good sidegrade that lets you control enemy movement, and every once in a while one shot a scout. On very tight and restricted close quarters maps, the loose cannon is actually, clinically insane. Viaduct (product)? Very good if you hold the point aggressively, you can effectively lock out the two most powerful sniper sightlines with just your primary. Steel? If you're not using the loose cannon on Steel defense you're seriously playing the game wrong. Gullywash? My loose cannon was named "River Monster" for a reason. If you're holding last on pretty much any 5CP map, there's no reason not to use the loose cannon. The only situations I outright wouldn't run it is while on the attacking team in highlander for payload or Steel, or when pushing last in 6s because of sentry guns. Sentry guns are the weapon's one biggest roadblock.

I LOVE USING THIS WEAPON, I kinda get why its bad but combining it with the quickiebomb launcher for secure follow ups or long ranged attacks seems to fix it quite a bit, alternatively combining it with the chargin' targe and eyelander, or half zatochi, or Claidheamh Mòr and you have quite the mid to close range power house that can easily move across the map with a trimp or loose cannon jump and can either easily replenish health, increase max hp and speed, or increase amount of speed/time of trimping and replenish charge, or to simply just secure an easy escape. The only thing I wish is for the shields to provide blast resistance to self but it doesn't seem noticeable at least when I do it.

On Upward you can basically prevent the enemy team from pushing the cart to the end if you sit in the perfect position cause it will always push them back and double donk them constantly. There are probably more examples like this where this weapon can shine

The biggest thing to note about the cannon is that it can oneshot light classes. The tradeoff is that charging shots takes time and precision. In a drawn out, midrange fight though, it can be great. Which is way less niche than it sounds because demo can essentially force medium range fights with sticky trap area denial.
