Just funny since you might as well say that about every other sword. They give a lot to Demoknight that the Eyelander can't. Just the Eyelander is so good for snowballing, no one really uses it. Hilariously prefer the Half Zatoichi over both on stock, full and hybrid knight.

I like to use persuader because it doesnt punish you for risking. You can jump into the most intense battle with no doubt and even survive sometimes. the worst that can happen to you in bad scenario is respawn time.

I've witnessed so many people struggle to get heads consistently with the Eyelander in a difficult match, but not bother switching to something that works more consistently at lower K:D ratios, so they just keep dying at 0-2 heads and don't make proper use of the weapon Persuader is definitely second best sword behind Eyelander and Half Zat (those ones are tied, best one depends on how confident you are)

I love Demomans 3 shields because they perfectly fit into the 'Offensive - Defensive - Utility' categories. Chargin' Targe is the ultimate defensive shield, Splendid Screen is the ultimate offensive shield, and Tide Turner is the ultimate utility shield.

the charge thing would be referred to as "chaining" and the Persian Persuader makes Demoknight into more of a pick class than the other swords do, which have a lot more options for survivability. Except the axe, but that's a weapon carried by random crits anyway.

I miss old persian persuader health from ammo kits. My favorite loadout used to be grenade launcher, sticky jumper, and persuader. It made health kits be everywhere and if you happen to run out of ammo you can sticky jump back to spawn.

Even then, the SoaS isn’t very good at that either. Instead of taking 4 afterburn damage a tick, you take 3, which won’t help you 90% of the time, especially when Scout has other melees that are far more effective and have far more uses.

It's my most used sword by a long shot (though I'm not an expert like some demoknight mains, I do have over 10k kills on it) and I can comfortably say that it gets me my hit of tf2 silliness more than any other sword. Now that I'm basically used to playing with the Persuader, I feel like all other swords nerf my mobility lol. Great vid!

The main issue why no one is use it mostly because. 1: No sustain. Since most the other sword at least provide you with some health after killing someone so they can continue the onslaught without dying. 2: It ability to refill the charge is pretty negligible. Despite potentially giving you a better chance of escaping or continue the onslaught, but without sustain most of the time you either runaway or die when running away or die charging at the next person. 3: Hybrid incompatibility. Due to it massive ammo reserve drain, using it on a hybrid play is painful due to low ammo reserve. 4: Charge doesn't grant crit on a shield bash anymore. If it still gain a full crit on a bash, then at it would worth something since you could potentially ping pong from one person to another.

As someone who has, and uses the Persain Crusader when on Demoman, I usually use it for things like VSH and just being a Demoknight from time to time, plus when I'd just like to chill around with people. Learning that people don't use it much makes me feel a little sad, but knowing the reasons why people don't use it much is understandable.

For a very long time i stuck to the damn stock bottle when playing demoknight (to the degree that i got a strange ks bottle that ive gotten nearly 5k kills on) but i recently swapped to the persian and im surprised at how powerful it is as a weapon. Even running hybrid knight, ive been able to make tons of use of the persian’s charging buffs. I remember specifically engaging a fight i should not have won, a medic-scout duo who were absolutely capable of wrecking my shit, and due to a mid-fight recharge with the persian + tide turner going insane, i was able to obliterate both of them and move on with my life. I feel like all the demoknight swords have their unqiue uses and values, but the persian is able to turn a demoknight into an actually formidable foe in direct engagements rather than just being locked to ambush playstyles.

Useful tip if you use any other shield that isn't the tide turner: turn off raw input and turn on mouse filter for more turning control (supposed that you're playing with high framerate and not with 60fps cap)

Pretty sure it’s not the eyelander that makes people not want to use this sword: but the Half-Zatoichi. The fact it gives both a full charge AND a bunch of health on kill makes it super appealing for people to pick up over the Persian persuader. However the risk tractor is often neglected, cause like you said a kill guarantees 75% charge back and ammo kits are everywhere which require 0 killing

I used to main the persuader on demoknight. I personally don't like collecting heads, as it's so easy to get knocked right back down to square one, whereas the other swords are at their full potential right out of the gate. Now my main demo sword is the skullcutter, because random crits are fair and balanced. (I normally only ever play demoknight on degroot keep, so that's where I generally base my playstyle off of, too easy to get backstabbed in the heat of combat of a full server to justify the eyelander)

I don't play a *ton* of demoknight, but I've always been a ride or die for the Persian Persuader. The Eyelander is cool and all but I'm still not great at the game and often rely HEAVILY on luck to get those first four kills. For me, the Persian Persuader gets rid of that luck factor and instead gives me the ability to pick my battles for the low low price of a small amount of game sense.

I think part of it is aesthetics. The eyelander is this sick longsword/greatsword and the persian persuader is this dinky looking toy sword, and Its got a (imo) ugly colour scheme. If it looked cooler I would use it more.
