The Garand also just kinda fits tf2 better too. I think the stock sniper rifle scope was meant to be like the infrared scope used on the Garand too, so that could just be ported over for an easy infrared version of the Garand. Although thermal in tf2 would definitely not look very good lol

It's Closer to a Armalite AR-10. Which is one of the inspirations for the New Vegas Service Rifle. Especially with the lighter mag and the wood parts

Not really. It's pretty clearly an ADAR 2-15 which is a Russian production of the AR platform. The biggest difference between the one in game and the one in real life is that the ADAR only fires in semi auto and does not have a fun switch.

@@ronk5102 Dude it's a video game. And I'm not wrong either. It's much more like an ADAR than any other rifle. The reason I say it's a video game, is that liberties are to be taken when designing an artsy version of a firearm in a game. Hence why there are no rails and the stock lacks the dimpling you mentioned. Now I've just looked at the AR-10 and it's not too unlike the rifle in this photo (I had never saw one with a bright wooden stock) but I still think that the it's quite similar to the ADAR, more so than the AR10

Ar10 furniture is not wood, it just has the color of wood. The prototype ar15 looks just like an ar10 scaled down.

You are all wrong. It may look like a AR-10 but it has a firing system of that close to the AR-18 series, guns like the Daewoo K2 and the Howa Type 89, but fitted with wood furniture and a M16 style fixed carry handle sights. I can tell that John plays too much tarkov, this isnt anything like the ADAR, the gun which is only set to semi auto as it is a civillian gun.

When you remove them, you end up with weapons that have clear advantages and disadvantages, creating more interesting gameplay dynamics.

The heavy’s minigun would be more of a heavy weapon because vulkan miniguns are generally not meant to be deployed by a single human. What i’m saying is, Soldier could more than easily handle an M60 if he’s already lugging rocket launchers around all day

I could see this working as a secondary weapon for the Soldier. A Roamer could use this as a follow-up to their rocket launcher attack, or a Trolldier could use this to pester enemy players and then deliver the coup de grâce with the Market Gardener. I could see this working with the Liberty Launcher as a follow-up attack.

Wood-colored brown plastic gives it even more of a retro 1950s look. The left-side charging handle is legit since the original AR-10 had its charging handle on top of the receiver. The non-reciprocal charging handle was a later innovation. Apart from being on the left side (which favors a right-handed user), it's also vaguely similar to the charging handle of the AR-18 and the various rifles derived from it. Fun fact: There's a punk song called 'Armalite Rifle' by Gang of Four that's mostly about the AR-18. Also fun fact: The "assault rifle" (true to its name) used by Arnie in 'The Terminator' was an AR-18.

Classic shooters never really had the typical roster of ars & aks because they were usually fantasy or sci fi based. It wasn't until Medal of Honor that they thought shooters should be like the military, so that when the FPS started to have realistic military arms. TF2 is meant to be a throwback to the older shooters which is why there is no AR or AK

I can't believe no one's pointed out the reload animations. They animated a whole-ass speed reload when the soldier empties the magazine, which means once a mag is loaded the soldier has to slide the bolt back to chamber a new round. That's a fucking sick detail.

Not exactly a m16, but more of a beloved ar-15 classic, the Armalite ar-10, which inspired and came before the ar15, basically its grandpa or dad, it is also chambered 7.62×51mm, a fully powered cartridge, which makes it a battle rifle, which is what stoner aimed for its design Being a weapon that inspired the ar15 design itself, what kinda armalite rifle is it if it doesnt usually have its own platform? The weapon itself also managed to inspire other weapon creators to make a better, improved version of the weapon itself!
