another tip for beggar's bazooka, this time. you should ALWAYS max reload speed before anything. get 1 HoK if you're using conch and 2 if you're using other banners. (1 rocket specialist of course xd. if you are damage hungry then go for 2) never get clip size, lol. (unless it's lategame). tapfiring with max reload statistically deals more damage output. maxing firing speed actually helps a lot too makes you tapfire one more rocket per second (that's a lot of damage when you have damage upgraded!) i have a damage record on metro malice of 315k with beggars only. the ideal upgrade path is max reload as soon as you can then get 1 rocket spec. 1 or 2 HoK MAX out damage as soon as you can, or balance/alternate it with ammo capacity (2 ticks ammo cap max. 3rd is unnecessary usually) OR (for above) max dmg, balance firing speed with ammo capacity resistances are optional. ammo canteen is recommended hope i helped :)

@Sir Scribbs well, the strategy is to aim near the feet. your splash damage will compensate for the misses. be close to the enemies also! (HoK helps for that :))

@@sirscribbs5993 and, no. the blast radius applies to everything INCLUDING misses. the direct hits only subtly stun robots if hit constantly. one more thing: rocket specialist does help with crowd control. however, do NOT upgrade it first. upgrade reload, then 1 specialist; you can do literally whatever you want in lategame. also, being close to the enemies has damage rampup, so you'd get even more damage if you'd just stand further away and only focus on direct hits (:

Tip: firing TWO rockets (or more) as opposed to just one at a time has a greatly reduced spread. It was made so you couldn't spam infinite rockets at an engineer repairing his sentry, but still take one down if you took the time to reload enough rockets. And now you can play from a much safer distance. At 11:39, almost all rockets would hit the giants inside the arch there, and all rockets would hit the giants medics on the scene after. I don't say you can snipe snipers (well you can, one of the two is gonna hit eventually, throwback to your example on Mannhatan), but it should definitely be noted. Two rockets is a bit slower than tap firing, but the increased accuracy makes up for it in many scenarios. Yes, this weapon is absolutely much better than you thought it was. (10,000 giant kills on mine)

Before the Beggar’s had its “nerf” it was quite common even on lower tours from my experience. (This was years ago though). Glad to see someone is bringing it to light again. Not much had the same feeling as 5 Soldiers (sometimes 6) doing the tank only wave with basically maxed out beggars, crits and/or mini-crits. Half the time the tanks would barely even leave the tunnel/spawn. Sometimes I am tempted to just redownload TF2 to just play MVM again, really do love this game mode.

@XplosiveAction3 жыл бұрын
The Beggars is a literal glass cannon but is fun and satisfying if you know what you're doing in MvM. Combined with the Conch, your risk of being immediately bodied from robots is lessened, meaning you can jump into a group of bots, fire a couple times, and get out. Obviously the strat is to spam click rather than upgrading clip size (even if its fun as hell to do that for tank busting with a crit canteen, or to just destroy every bot on the map). Getting Firing Speed also helps as it decreases the random angle of the rockets, on top of the already existing firing speed, and it basically negates that random angle issue, unless you're far away, which isn't really what you do with the beggars; again, glass cannon weapon with you going up in every bots face. HOWEVER, reload speed, as you know, is what you should focus on FIRST in MvM, as you said, to mitigate the large reload time. This brings up the one exception to the "no more than 1 rocket specialist rule" as it makes the rockets travel faster, i.e. less randomization. So for the beggars specifically, getting more than 1 rocket specialist is NOT a cardinal sin. I see the beggars as essentially a "rocket launcher with a 20 rocket clip" (before you upgrade said clip), where the downside is the delay of loading the rocket to fire. If you predict a bots movement with the timing of how long it takes to reload, you've essentially got a straight-up upgrade. (Also this video was extremely well scripted and edited, good job with the audio quality and background music choice/good volume. Blurring the screen when bringing up an image is a classic form of editing that you got down pat)

I remember like 6 years ago when I played MvM on some community servers with "rtd" and money regen. One of the "rtd" effects was "Homing Projectiles" which basically turned the Soldier's rockets (except those fired by the Air Strike), Sniper's arrows, and Medic's crossbow bolts into homing crit projectiles. The Beggar's Bazooka with this effect was borderline broken as it basically turned the Soldier into a smart artillery piece that can hit any robot (except tanks since the homing effect doesn't work on them) even while at spawn or behind cover, completely negating the huge accuracy penalty and not requiring you to put yourself in harm's way just to get a lot of burst damage in.

Very good video! I think you forgot one (somewhat?) important aspect of beggars in mvm, the rocket jumping, specifically overload jumping. What is it? Many think of beggar´s misfire as a downside, but it can become an upside in the right hands. Basically, you can rocketjump midair by holding m1, and jumping ~0.75 seconds before it misfires (or around when you hear the noise of the last rocket loading if you have reload speed maxed). TLDR: rocketjumping in midair. How is it useful? It helps mitigate one of the beggar´s downside mentioned in the video, by the fact that you can be anywhere you want in like 3 seconds (atleast on smaller maps on coaltown or decoy, may take more if it´s further away) What are it´s downsides? 1. It will take a lot of health if you don´t have blast resistance 2. Makes extra clip size more of a downside than an upside Should I use then? Short answer: yes, Long answer: except in the last missions of Rottenburg (or other waves with lots of tanks), yes PS: I could not find any examples of this on youtube, maybe they appear in a video by Scoutfingers.
@XplosiveAction3 жыл бұрын
Usually you wouldn’t get extra clip until a tank wave or not even at all, it’s not needed on a normal wave, bc you spam click rather than stick the beggars with rockets, so overload jumping is still a plus. Standard rocket jumping is still there, you just have to prepare for the delay the rocket has

The beggars bazooka is my go to rocket launcher for destroying sentry nests, because it can fire 3 rockets in a second, and unlike every single other rocket launcher (except for the air strike), doesn’t allow engineers to repair their buildings, and if you are close enough, all 3 of the rockets hit for upwards of 250 damage.

Fun trick with beggars: you can fill your clip then hold it by taunting (looping taunts like kazotsky, conga, or high five work best) or opening the con tracker menu. It’s a much bigger deal in pvp, but it still has its moments in mvm, especially if you’re new and don’t having your timings right

An alt build for the beggars is going blast res instead of clip size so you maintain access to easy overload jumping so you can roam the map super effectively. If you have a good demo doing good kritz, you don't need the clip size vs giants as much. Being able to quickly jump and handle threats when your team is overwhelmed is extremely valuable. The money spent in resistances also gives your medic some breathing room and lets you take those more aggressive positions to help the team.

@dispentryporter86212 жыл бұрын
Ehh, the Beggar's is plenty consistent if you stay close and get good with the weapon, and if you're carrying a struggling team, then the stronger weapon will always be the better choice. Beggar's is easily one of the best carry weapons in the game if used correctly, far better than stock which I'd say prefers having an experienced team more than Beggar's does since it needs someone to cover for you when you're reloading.
@cdxxlxil91593 жыл бұрын
I can understand why people don't like using the Beggar's but I've found this to have the gunslinger effect of being arguably the most important sidegrade in the game; You can use the self-damage you get from overloading to get the massive advantage to travel across the map in SECONDS and still have 3 rockets to fire on anyone that is unlucky enough to be in your field of view. Not only is this arguably the best way to play Trolldier while keeping a primary weapon, It allows for some insane picks where engineers can't pop the wrangler fast enough to save their sentry and Bazaar Bargain Snipers don't have the reaction time to quick scope you. Is it frustrating at times? YES, but I 100% recommend this weapon to anyone who is tired of the same soldier gimmicks.

beggar’s really is great! but if your teammates aren’t gonna pitch in taking out support bots (snipers, spies, engies, scouts that take the bomb and sneak past.. you know, the annoying kind) i would then value accuracy just to play offensive and support at the same time

I like the play style changing weapons of MVM, didn’t consider this as one

As someone who considers himself decent at beggars jumping and someone who adores the beggars, acquired taste or not, it warms my heart to see this weapon finds love in other modes rather than gathering dust in backpacks, even if it’s for DPS instead of jumping. Trash cannon gang forever.

An additional thought on this video: You can switch launchers between waves. So why not start out with a regular launcher in the first wave, which is easiest, and generally doesn't require much in the wave of buffs to be effective, and not deal with the early-game downsides of the beggars, and then switch in the 2nd or third wave once you have lots of cash for upgrades to buy the buffs that make the beggar much more useable? And another though - the video talks about how in the early game the begger allows you to save $800 on firing speed upgrades, and suggests putting that to damage. Of course, but it also means that at every later wave you have an additional $800 bucks to spend on new upgrades. . . which means by the last wave, you could have 50hp/kill self heal plus 2 or 3 levels of resistance buffs instead of the usual 1 or 2 levels. So now, your extra resistances combined with self heal buffs, means you can use the buff banner instead of the conch, because you are going to be outhealing any incoming damage, from 50hp per kill (heck, you might get away with only one level of self heal on kill, because 25x6 kills per second could be 150hp of heals per second on yourself plus those big resists.

I'm going to give the beggar a try in MvM just for variety, but in defense of the basic launcher/The original - yeah, you have to spend more on buffing the launcher, and it's slightly slower, but the extra accuracy means you can launch nukes, relaitvely rapidly, at range, and if you get a direct hit (much more likely with added accuracy), it does max possible damage, across a very wide area (from rocket specialist). So the choice between beggar vs original, seems to me, is do you want to play at range, and depend less on resistances and heals, or play closer and need more resists (but also, can afford more resists, as I pointed out previously).
