[TF2] Weapon Stereotypes! Episode 3: The Soldier

Ever seen a person’s weapon and assumed something about how they play? Well, you’re not alone. In fact, most weapons in TF2 hold a certain stereotype. This series of videos aims to go over some of the most well-known weapon stereotypes in TF2.
Please keep in mind that I’m not saying that anyone who uses a certain weapon is a certain type of person. These videos are for fun. Sorry if I hurt your feelings or something.
This episode we’ll be talking about the soldier, aka literally everybody’s main/secondary. There are some…let’s just say “controversial” weapons this time around, so get your popcorn.

KiwiKitty I always thought of the Original as being the super ultra mega sweaty Tryhard launcher. Like, the soldiers I see using it are usually top-scoring team carriers who take this game way too seriously. i'm the cow mangler soldier and yeah i tend to use the charge shot a lot, it's super satisfying to set people on fire as a soldier, especially if u fire that charge shot into a group like when ur defending against a cart push, also it's a good way to take out sentry nests since the charge shot disables engie buildings for 4 seconds

It kind of sucks that most people associate it with "Bad Box Soldier", since "Support Soldier" (Conch+Whip) is arguably more common than the former. I run that all the time on maps where there isn't much room to rocket jump.

i see the former more often, which is a shame. I think default shotgun compliments the black box more due to it's lack of a fourth rocket, having the conch with the black box seems redundant to me. I mean you already get health regen as a passive and you get tons of health back when you activate it, the up to 20 hp you get while firing hardly seems worth having one less rocket.

As a medic main, myself, I don't really mind it as much, personally. I mean, I find a bad Black Box soldier is probably still gonna die anyway, even with the healing they get from it (hell, even from a medic healing them as bad soldiers tend to play extremely recklessly, not even waiting for a med and haven't really gotten down the skill needed to Rocket Jump away from danger if things go south). I feel it's a crutch for new/bad players, but not as frustrating to deal with as spy's "LEL FUCK SUBTLETY I'LL JUST GET AWAY WITH EVERYTHING LOLOLOLOLOLOL" Dead Ringer or the "I can shoot straight up and probably still have it count as a headshot to you" Huntsman.

It’s a fine sidegrade and if you’re aim is godlike, you can shut down a server like a sniper main. I use the air strike and gunboats with the escape plan to move at the speed of light and bomb people with a lot of rockets. I also use it for trollider like you said but also the extra clip size after kills is great for doing the fastest and largest jumps it's INSANE
