You probably see so many of them for a few reasons 1) those who are fortunate (or rich) enough to own a Golden Pan will almost always use it in every single one of their loadouts, and will use it for melee kills at every opportunity. 2) if someone using a golden pan dies, it is dropped on the ground, where it will almost certainly be picked up by another player immediately. 3) most community servers have commands that let you give yourself any item you want, which is why you see so many new players using them on these servers.

You missed the "series-less Mann. Co. Crates". These crates do not have a series number like all other Mann. Co. Crates do. And there is only about 4 of them in existence from what I last remember. It is unknown what would happen or what items you would receive if you opened one. Some people theory that if one of the 4 owners opened one of these crates that they would receive... Nothing. As in the description of the crate, there isn't any weapons or cosmetics listed. While others theory that they would receive some completely glitched/bugged item. Which would be maybe something like a broken weapon/cosmetic with impossible properties/qualities. But the chance of any of the 4 owners ever coming back to TF2 and opening one is very low. So nobody really knows what would happen if any of these 4 very rare crates were un-boxed. Edit: Apparently there are actually only 2 of these crates confirmed to be in existence. This makes the chances of any of the 2 owners ever coming back to TF2 and opening one of them beyond rare.

The seriesless crates are in collector's backpacks. They are very much active, they just don't want to open the crates for obvious reasons (it definitely would not give a glitched item).

@@VrOOm1337 I think the game would probably give you a Normal Quality Level 0 Tradable Bat. Apparently a couple of these exist, and they came to be because the servers somehow bugged out and didn't know what to give players, so it ended up defaulting to all the in-game defaults. Normal Quality, Level 0, Tradeable, and Bat are the first entries of their respective file schemas (The lists in the game files that basically say what an item is and its traits), so they end up being the defaults for an unknowable item. The game would probably freak out and not know what to give you, but still has to give you *something*, so it'd just default to that. That, or it sees there is nothing *to* give and decides that that's fine, in which case you get a very nice empty unbox stream, and a profit loss of however absurd Series-less crates' value is. Ultimately, it's up to how crates are coded to handle unboxings. The code of this game has been leaked, right? Someone might be able to look into it and see what's the most likely outcome.

One thing that is worth mentioning regarding the Top Notch is that according to a podcast with various TF2 developers (as well as other guests, like Notch himself) the hat had a hidden stat which made Notch take extra damage when he was wearing it (it was like 20-25% more damage, im not sure)

You should've mentioned more details for some of em, e.x. You should've mentioned that you can't get Saxxy anymore since Valve stopped giving them away or having Saxxy awards event. Also the strange camera melee is slightly less rare then Saxxy but still rare and is awarded for lesser achievements in Saxxy awards(I don't remember if it was participation price or like 2nd 3rd place award but it doesn't matter since you can't get more of em, also should've mentioned they used to be unique quality and not strange one so you couldn't even level up your Saxxy at one point)

Another rare item fact that is missing is the spine chilling skull, there is 4 version with each varies in price rarity, some of them also can be strange or uncraftable or both, you can craft them using the haunted metal instead of the horseman axe, one version is permanently remove from the game but can still be seen from old player inventory or the giant demoknight on wave 666 mvm and there is a self made one of a kind unusual spine chilling skull for a make a wish kid that beat cancer

I tried using it immediately for a free hat, only to learn it was for a RIFT hat and not a TF2 hat. No loss though, as they were untradeable achievement items. However, a few were bugged, or maybe gift wrapped. Either way, later on down the line, I remember seeing that they were extremely valuable, and freaked out, since I hadn't claimed my code yet as I lost interest in trying to get the hat after I realized it wasn't a TF2 hat. Young me frantically hopped between trade servers desperately trying to sell the thing, but nobody was buying, because who on trade servers is looking for an expensive, quirky bugged item? Eventually, I ran into one of my buddies who was a really big trader, he looked at my inventory and told me that I didn't even have the item I thought I did, and called me a moron. Ever since, I've wanted to get one to one-up him and laugh about it.
