Trouble is, can Heavy detect who on his team is injured and run rapidly to help them any time? Without Medics in-built injury sensor or his mobility, Heavy is stuck on pocket duty, which for such a big target is very limiting. He also lacks the Ubersaw or Crossbow for easy support and synergy, and switching to the Minigun is just too taxing to pull off simultaneously with healing. I think Tomislav + Quick Fix + GRU/EN could work well as a combo, and would love to see this actually tested, but that's about it.

@@Frosty-ud7fv Stickies may be the *overall* best secondary in the game, but Sniper Rifles are the overall best primary, and they're still not recommendable to all classes or game circumstances. Think of "best" in such abstract terms and it's easy to see why they aren't overplayed, and thus not a problem for those classes which really gain from them (ie not Medics or Soldiers). As for corner-revving - well, just hop around and *IIIYYAAAAARGH!!!!* directly at them instead. You'll whip down the corridor and shield bash them, stunning them before they can open fire and them just point-blank destroy them with the MG. Scout with the cleaner's carbine could go crazy. It's poor damage for sniper's SMG, when it's his only tool for closer range, but scout's always ready to deal with a threat at that range. Since it doesn't need to be his only relevant tool in any given fight, and because he's always gonna be at around that range, getting the 100 points of damage will be stupid easy just from poking at enemy crowds. This is essentially an alright pistol with a much larger mag, AND the crit a cola, AND no damage-vulnerable downside. And let's not get started on the normal SMG being an absolute fucking beast with damage if you can only survive long enough to use it. DIRECT upgrade to the stock pistol. Then the back shields, not all of them would be that big a deal, but the danger shield puts him out of the light class threshold, which can be HUGE. And let's not even begin to mention what he could do with jarate... Imagine not needing your team to capitalise on alllll that sweet damage.
@curvingfyre6810Ай бұрын
Actually, heavy would benefit a fair amount from sniper's secondaries as well. SMGs are just a short to mid range damage dealer, simple sidegrade from shotguns. But... the razorback hard counters spies. HARD counters spies. On sniper, it's mostly just a crutch against situational awareness, since you still have to fight the spy at close range without a proper kit to do so, but on heavy... well, you're always ready to fight up close as heavy. Imagine being straight up spy proof as a heavy. I couldn't even imagine being that busted.

Medic with a different secondary would simply be a better battle engi He is faster, can regen passively (and has items that can passively regen) and would have either offensive or supportive options 1-battle medic: built purely for offense: solemn vow- stock shotgun- blutsuager Blutsauger is good up close for finishing enemies while closing in, and the shotgun is good to finish off enemies farther away 2- support medic: crossbow- jarate- solemn vow This would play similarly to the current medic playstyle of sticking close to your teammates or pockets, healing with crossbow and providing a damage buff with jarate, solemn vow for picking targets and making decisions 3- Skinny heavy: tide turner(or any shield, really)- blutsauger- solemn vow While the shield charge wouldnt be useful for other classes other than pyro and heavy, it would simply be busted on a medic who knows how to use a syringe gun. Those things have a quite high dps, it would be deadly if you manage to shield bash someone and get a mini/crit syringe off on someone and run away with very decent speed and health regen, combined with the shield being able to remove debuffs when used. Amputator is a curious case, it should be better because it is the 2nd way the medic can heal others (we dont count lunchboxes) but i still dont see a point in using it unless you are planning to exclusively sit in the backlines, but the health regen is nice i guess?
@MajorKittyАй бұрын
Your definetly not wrong about the health regen and the extra movespeed Medic has but even without leveled sentries a Medic which replaces his Medi-gun with a shotgun isn't going to be as effective as a Gunslinger engi who can build dispensers to heal people, teli's to take teamates from spawn and mini's to force enemies to have to shoot at 2 targets instead of just 1.

Battle Engie is still Engie mah dood, his ability to slap down a Mini Sentry, Dispensor and Teles is half the meat of his appeal. Agreed! *Crit-a-Cola* will break balance as the Secondary on probably every class. Even if you would receive minicrits during the effect, you would be able to cast them basically for free since you don't need to charge anything like with *Cleaner's Carabine* or *Buff Banner* or rely on regioned effect of *Jarate.* * On *Soldier:* 1-2 Rockets in the crowd can be enough: if you are full HP, you wouldn't probably die fast enough before your enemies evaporate * On *Pyro:* It's mini-Phlog but you can reflect * On *Demo:* Almost like with soldier but you need to aim (lol) * On *Heavy:* Like *Buffalo Steak Sandvich* but for minigun, maybe even Tomislav for speed. Like *KGB + Tomislav* gimmick but you don't even need to risk of switching weapons * On *Engineer:* On "Sentry Engie" - probably not that good (if I remember correctly personal buffs apply to sentries only if they are spells and crumpkins) but can maybe help of defending your nest, though you might instadie yourself However, on "Battle Engie", or even with *Widowmaker* it would be hot. The famous *Kritzkrieg + Widowmaker* but you don't use Medic * On *Medic:* Well, if you commit to "Battle Medic", it would be good with Syringe-guns: they are pretty strong and this way will be even deadlier On "Semi-battle Medic" with *Crossbow* and *Amputator* it might let you oneshot long range targets which is a little bit funny * On *Sniper:* With Rifles can be good since you don't risk much anyway, so it's just more damage on bodyshots With Bow however I think I would prefer *Jarate* or *Carabine* for gimmick gameplay instead of risking of self-minicrits - Bow reloads waaay too slowly for this * On *Spy:* Yes, probably not this much effective, but maybe will work on "Very aggressive Gunspy" gimmick

But since *Bushwacka* is a melee weapon you might be obliterated much quicker. Unlike in Soldier or Pyro examples where you don't have to be point-blank and hit one no so reliable swing. With Sniper rifles or even with Bow it's more consistent. Even if you might get one kill with a Bushwacka - it might work in situations where you are basically safe because either the enemy or enemies can't oneshot you under minicrits for some reason or can't aim. But the later thing is out of categories because it's not fair to judge the strat if enemy can't hit you because of "skill issue".

I think with the Heavy weapon swap with Pyro's, he could use the Heater with the Flare Guns to get the bonus damage. Medic could work with the Banners, just change his focus to building damage and healing. If tweaked to account for it, you could have the Quick Fix boost your speed when the Banner's full, Ubersaw and Vita Saw would also help with gaining/keeping Rage. Especially the Ubersaw, you know the Ubersaw Medics are *insane*. Editing this in: Bonk would probably also be really great on Spy, because you could pair it with the Kunai and Dead Ringer and just never die. There's also Crit-Cola, because Mini Crits on a class that can go invisible... Yeah. Especially if the drinks don't break disguise, Enforcer would be bonkers. For the pistols the fact he'd be-able to heal himself with the Pretty Boy, the Winger helps with mobility. Even if the latter would by much. Mad Milk lets him play support, he can turn invisible, go behind the enemy team and disguise himself, then when your team's about to push surprise everyone with Milk so your team can get healed while fighting them. Flying Guillotine gives Spy a damage over time effect, which he could just throw this out, go invisible, and not explain anything. Before I watch the video, I'm going to post what I anticipate will emerge from the experiment: 1) All classes will remain viable except for maybe Demoman, as some combination of a strong primary,, base build or melee will carry them 2) Stickybomb Launchers and Assault Shields will be popular on many classes, but not the be all and end all - for instance, Soldiers don't need them, Medics will prefer their Mediguns, Engineers and Spys may prefer their native gear, but Scouts, Pyros, Heavies and Snipers would love the gains 3) Soldier's Banners will be very popular, especially on the four lightweight classes 4) Mediguns won't be that popular, despite their extreme value, because Medics use them better than anyone else 5) Some of the cheesier Scout and Sniper secondaries (ie Mad Milk and Jarate, occasionally the sodas) will have some currency 6) Pyro and Heavy secondaries won't take off, and no-one will use the Sapper outside of Spies 7) Engineer's secondaries will remain exclusive to himself (this is obvious as they don't do much or do nothing otherwise) 8) Snipers and Spies may have use for Secondary Shotguns, but that's about it 9) Pistols and SMGs will basically disappear All that typed up, let's see how things actually pared out: Post-watch update: .... I thought this would be an actual testing video, with a custom server ala Shounic. Oh well. Mostly broad agreement with the opinions in the video. Standouts for either eye-opening good combos or disagreements: - Scouts really, REALLY love the Battalion's Backup. Flat +20 HP is a big gain proportionally, and it's easy for a speedy scout to apply the defensive effects to his teammates. - Heavies also like the Battalion's, because the percentage-based buffs are crazy given his 320 HP pool. Heavy has effectively *492* HP against ordinary attacks, and 640 against sentries. Combined with a Medic, some insane stuff can happen. - Pyro aerial options could be great on Heavy, I had not considered that, but given that Heavy could also take a *Sticky Jumper* they may be somewhat redundant. I don't recall you mentioning the SJ in the video? - Gunslinger Engineer would massively increase in power with either a solid damaging secondary like Stickybombs (letting him retire his Primary to the Rescue Ranger, a good move overall), or with the Battalion's in conjuction with the Widowmaker. This combo is the same as Scout, except a little slower in return for having +25 HP, a Mini Sentry and Dispenser. - Mediguns just won't see much useage outside of Medic because he has his inbuilt HP sensor for teammates, and this makes him the best bearer for this valuable item. (also, the Crossbow and Ubersaw let him build uber better) - Could a Medic with Mad Milk, Jarate or the two defensive Banners, plus the Amputator, make a viable combat Medic? This should be explored - I think you've overlooked the glorious meme potential of a Huntsman Sniper with Crit-a-Cola and the Bushwhacka, able to land full crits for several seconds and still switch to a viable mobile weapon. Alternatively, the Buffalo Steak for mobility. - The drawback to BSS doesn't matter much for lightweights btw as these classes lose little potential health from it, and are already reliant on other means to survive (evasion via speed, stealth, sentry cover or range). - Any secondary you could give to Demoman, you could just give to Soldier and see better results. 200 HP and a Rocket Launcher beats 175 HP and a Grenade Launcher. Soldier's melee pool is slightly superior overall and the base movement difference is negated by rocket jumping.

For scout cosy camper or second banana would work well with his low health to keep him topped of constantly insted of stealing health packs from meds

I would Take. Scout: Jarate or Flare Guns or Smg Soilder: Second Banana or Mad Milk Pyro: Shields or Bonk or Sticky Jumper Demoman: Pistol or Shotgun Heavy: Shields or Medigun or Banners or the Razorback Engi: Medigun or Jarate or Flare Guns or the Razorback Medic: the Sandvich or Shotgun or Stickys Sniper: Crit-a-Cola or Banner or shotgun Spy: Banners or the Thermal Thruster or Sticky Jumper or Darwin's Danger Shield

the pretty boy pocket pistol would be really good on sniper or engy,also the darwins dangershiel on spy would be a neat sidegrade

Medic with Heavy's shotgun/sandvich roster would be more my speed tf2 classic medic toss those health kits or blast those faces Blaught sauger + panic attack to basically be a scout again
@williamgingrich8361Ай бұрын
Ok if I may make a argument for sniper secondary on spy danger, shield for no Afterburn cozy camper cloak, free healing without moving and invisible if it doesn’t break cloak jarate would be funny to throw into a group of enemies and SMG’s might be good for running away
@blu3m0nkeyАй бұрын
Spy with the crocodile back (or whatever its called) Edit, medic can use amputator, as all other meles are now USELESS He can heal 25 per 1.5 secs every time he taunts, and mad milk still keeps up healing He can also use pocket pistol as battle medic, considering you dont heal people anyway
@maxorsmthn1432Ай бұрын
Soldier with stickies would just be a better demoman, having both good sustained damage and an easier close range option, plus utility melees Also all fear the rocket sticky jumper trolldier

@dernamenlosefanАй бұрын
I feel like you're massively underestimating the Stickies on Scout as well as the banners on Heavy: Scout wouldn't play stickies like Demo, he'd be able to get incredibly nasty angles on enemies with his mobility to spam down explosions and his speed lets him negate the few considerable downsides the stickies haave: reload time and close quaters. A scout could place a stickie at an unaware target and combine the detonation with a single scatter shot to finish off most classes in a 1, 2 combo most won't even see coming. As for Heavy 2 things have to be considered: Heavy anchors his team as most people swarm around the large guy and the banners can help massively improve his survivability, sustain or negate his mediocre mid range damage due to fall off via minicrits.

I've always thought of spy's "secondary" as the invis watches. the sapper is basically spy's PDA, and you wouldn't say that engineer's PDA is his *secondary*, would you? (Obviously not, as that's never on the table, and if classes could build sentries and dispensers and teleporters that'd be a serious contender for nearly every class). If we take the invis watches as Spy's secondary it actually weakens his ability to utilize the Sticky's even MORE, and it provides some interesting risk v reward with picking a banner or a shotgun from soldier, as you actually have to consider if you want the safety of invisibility or the offense or utility of shotguns or banners.
@aidansharp5244Ай бұрын
The invis watch isn’t a secondary tho, it’s either the revolver or sapper, and that’s it, no other secondary functions like the invis watch anyways.

People tend to forget that medic's medi gun is the reason why he can pacifly regain health. This is seen on weapon randomizer as any class who gets the medic's medi-gun regains health over time. So with that being said the medic is primarlly useless without his medi gun. That's not to say he can make some pretty cool frag clips while using a shotgun though. :]

when it comes to your suggestion about scout and using the stickybomb launcher, your arguments are taking the perspective of someone who *isn't* going to be able to switch their secondary. "um, just, go play soldier to do that?? are you stupid??" demo is the most overpowered class in team fortress 2, having the best damage in the game, the most spam potential, and the best mobility of any of the classes excluding the scout. the stickybomb launcher, on scout, would BREAK the game in it's entirety. imagine the spam you receive from a godly demo, but on a class that can not only run fast, but also DOUBLE JUMP.
@ashtongiertz8728Ай бұрын
I think this might be a bit more interesting if you limited yourself to only giving a class' secondaries to 1 class. To put it another way: when you give a class's secondary to another class, you can't give it to anyone else.
