Horror maps in games not meant to house horror content are some of the most bizarre experiences you could have in one. And source is certainly no stranger to this! From half life horror mods, to Garry’s mod horror maps. But one game that houses some content like above is one you likely were to not guess it’d be. this is actually crazy dude did you know that The Brain Bucket is a promotional cosmetic item for the Soldier. It is the bucket worn by Buckethead Zombies from the Plants vs. Zombies video game franchise; a dented metal bucket with a narrow trail of dried blood leading up from the rim, speckled by several more droplets on the bucket's handle and body. the limb puzzle from the first map is probably a reference to the zodiac puzzle from silent hill! you have to connect several zodiac signs to numbers corresponding to the amount of limbs on the image (gemini is 8, taurus is 4, etc)

The basement demo was such a cool map to see come out when it did. I remember seeing a youtube video on it, and being like "I want more of these", especially after playing it myself. Of course, I think it needs a bit more polish, like maybe switching interacting with buttons with using a melee weapons with buttons, and having a respawn mechanic. But Crypto Forest certainly blows it out of the water, and I never heard of that map before. I think there's certainly a way to have more horror maps in tf2, seeing how much vscript can be psuehd and modded.

If you want tf2 horror, Emisis Blue is the scariest movie I have ever seen and I highly recommend. Also, a KZbinr whose name I can’t remember made a game map and server based on the movie
