Like Wiktionary lists both /kæʃ/ (like “cash”) and /keɪʃ/ (“caysh”) as pronunciations for “cache” (as well as /kæɪʃ/ as another variant specifically occurring in Australia, which I can’t think of a good way to respell outside of the IPA).

Im biased but I love Los Muertos, it is so accurate to some places in Mexico, the theme 100% fits tf2 aesthetic and the layout is great, very easy to move around without having unfair sightlines

Yeah it's my favorite scream fortress map! Maybe that's another reason why I like it; the lack of sightlines? Because I hate sniper lol. But I mainly love it because I love day of the dead stuff (and lotsa mexican stuff in general). It's basically halloween but less spooky, more candy and treats, a friendlier environment, and parties!

It’s possible that one of the castles seen in the skybox in Crasher could be the castle from Monsterbash as if you look at the skybox of monsterbash you will see a town that looks to be in the same position as the map in Crasher. Also one of the castles looks very similar to the Monsterbash castle.

The scariest place I found in tf2 is the market. I remember when a hat was worth 1-2 keys and an unusual was worth about 2-4 earbuds and keys were around 2-3 refined in 2011. (Which is where the demopan meme of stout shakko for 2 refined came from, it was the cheapest hat at the time.) I dread to think how expensive stuff is on tf2 now.

I think random craftable hats are actually about the same or cheaper. I see hats for 1-9 ref. A key is 47 ref. So if you have one key you can get a crap load of hats

You made a mistake with the Helltower fog comparison. The map uses a trigger to change the fog players experience when they enter the underworld. It makes the fog orange. What you did was enter the area in spectator so you never triggered it, so you still had the fog values of the overworld.

A notable thing to add here related to the fog was that years ago, engineers with eureka effect were actually able to teleport out of hell using the teleport on the wrench , going back there made you see the map with the hell fog, and it looked hella weird but funny.

I really love some of the new maps this year. Crasher is easily the most unique map in the entire game and is an incredibly novel new experience, Helltrain not only looks fantastic but is the only good official capture the flag map for actually playing the game, which is an impressive feat, and Bonesaw (when it works) is extremely fun and really atmospheric with its unique forest fire thing going on. I honestly think these maps should be kept year-round, perhaps as a sort of 'Eternaween' section in the alternate modes for the devs' top picks of the Halloween maps. It'd especially be good news for Player Destruction fans, as 4 of the 6 maps for the mode are Halloween-exclusive and 1 of the remaining 2 is Smissmas-exclusive.

Harvest_event is still my favorite Halloween map to this day. It's spooky, comfy and down to earth. Unlike a lot of the other over the top Tim Burton style Halloween maps in the game now. It feels like a real place you would go to around Halloween.

as great and as fun as scream fortress is i honestly dread doing the contracts now, this year i'm not even trying to do all of them because of how much there are, kinda hope they tone them down a bit in some way or give you more time (i dont think anyone would complain about being able to play halloween maps until smissmas) but oh well that's honestly just a nitpick, crasher is one of the best maps in years (the hell train map is amazing too! incredible visuals and it's the closest thing to convoy being officially added)

Halloween contracts sure are hell to do because of their bonuses that feel downright unreasonable at times... But they still can be completed rather quickly sometimes, this year I completed most of them but stopped at about 9 maps incomplete cuz I got tired and became busy with life stuff. Gotta say though, this year's halloween maps are truly amazing with their unique quirks that they brought.

@@eltiolavara9 thankfully bonuses don't really matter besides the main scream fortress contract, some maps have bonuses that are actually related to doing stuff that contributes to the objective (like pit of death having insanely easy (debatable according to your team) bonuses related to delivering souls) others have bonuses that can easily be cheesed (like harvest bonus of killing spooked enemies being doable by killing people with natasha), but most of them feature the bonus I hate the most which is killing with a pumpkin bomb, something that involves pure luck 90% of the time while being frustrating when you're trying to actually line up a kill with it. Once again, thankfully you don't need to complete all bonuses most of the time , otherwise Halloween contracts would have been a lot more frustrating.

Laughter is one of my favorite maps from recent years, not because of the map itself but because one of the map makers was on someone's twitch map at the exact moment that Scream Fortress update dropped and told the streamer "Hey you swedish dumpass, you're in a TF2 map now" and fucked off, it wasn't a lie and it's still one of the best live easter eggs reveals I've ever seen.
