There is a rule to live by when it comes to combat firearm - keep it simple. Deviating from what works well to make it look cool or add a boatload of accessories will slow you down and leave you at the end of the day stripping that junk off and back to basics. Trigger Housing: A&S Engineering enhanced trigger housing. The above items work, and work damn well. Stipple/texture your forend for extra grip if needed and leave it be. 30 years ago I bought a used Remington 870 with a 24" full choke barrel for $150, with the idea I'd have it modified for social work by the Gunsite Ranch. It received a 18" Vang Comp barrel, action job, side saddle, sling & ghost-ring sights. I didn't extend the magazine, so it "only" held four in the tube, one in the chamber. I took the Gunsite 260 shotgun class with it, then years later I took the Thunder Ranch shotgun class. My gun has held up to the most punishing treatment with all kinds of ammo without issue or failure. I was lucky to find a LE version that came with 7 shot tube, collapsible stock and night sights from the factory. No issues after 2 days of a shotgun class shooting variety of buck, bird and slugs. Definitely aftermarket accessories failures. For light/sling, ggg has a simple and effective mount that replaces factory front sling mount. No need to change handguard.

I love mine. 8+1, wonderful charging handle, smooth feed ramp, Works flawlessly with everything I've ever put in it. I did at first have to get over the fact that the Barrel is a tad bit shorter than the tube. That was remedied after the first time I shot it. I love my 500, but the 930 is fun to shoot. Right up there with my Socom 16.

I've had a M4 LE model on order from my LGS since September of 2022, no word as of this comment when it'll show up. Glad I was able to find a shop that's a Benelli LE dealer because by the time you get full 922.r compliance, you're almost at 2k in accessories for a 2k shotgun. To me the reason there was a failure looked like it was related to poor installation. 😬

Getting the original mag tube off takes about 20 minutes of heat gun use to break it loose. I scrubbed all the crystalized thread locker from the factory off and installed a factory mag tube for $250. That's a lot of money for a piece of threaded pipe, but I had to do it for the proper capacity.

A buddy of mine actually bought a Promag, yes THAT Promag, collapsible stock for his Benelli M4 because he couldn't find an actual one. It broke after some hard use. He had some kind of tri-rail handguard for awhile on it but since he didn't actually mount his light or anything else on it, he switched back to the factory one. The light mount he got is actually clamped onto the tube itself. Still holds up. He got a larger charging handle and a larger bolt release and those have held up fine. Mesa tactical side saddle

ALL of those issues could've been created by that mag tube coming loose and or elongating. Most people don't think about or understand the physics behind firearms. Until the projectile, in this case a shot column or slug, leaves the muzzle, there is a forward force acting on the barrel through the building pressure. Never mind the jarring force of two pistons launching the carrier rearward, there is an equal and opposite force forwards there as well. The tube loosening allows the barrel to set further forward. You can actually see that pretty well, looking at the 1/16 to 1/8 inch gap behind the barrels shoulder at the front edge of the receiver at 10:55. The constant fore/aft movement of the front end likely didn't help that handguard dremled or not, or that sheet metal bolt release paddle. That's more than enough force to remove anodizing. Probably way more than enough force to damage that carbon mag tube in ways that cant be seen. Likely what happened to the retainer was that once it got loose enough to misalign it caught and got bent between the receiver (braced by the butt stock), and the rearward recoiling front end (the barrel sliding back that 1/16 to 1/8 inch, which took the handguard with it. If you don't believe the barrel moving that much under recoil could crate that much force, then tell that to the OG browning A5. That gun had a literal friction brake to stop it from denting the back of the receiver. TFB, if you read this, I'd recommend at minimum carefully inspecting, if not replacing that mag tube, and not reusing it. Stress cracks could very easily have formed that are invisible or nearly invisible to the naked eye. Also get your money back from that 'smith'. He should've seen that coming a mile away in a mechanism this violent in principal.

we also had issues with bio ammo , bought some in May 2022 fired a few , pattern looked ok , took it hunting in Oct 2022 and they were like pop gun ammo , weak report , no recoil. also no birds.the shells were kept in side in an air conditioned house right next to other boxes of Federal and Winchester shot shells that had no issue and in some cases were several years older. it seems it starts breaking down before you want it to.

My Benelli came to me in Canada with the telescoping stock, ghost ring sights and 4 shot tube. For$2300 cnd. Sights are great no issue. Stock I like no issue. Tube was a factory crimped tube. Would hold 4 , 2 3/4 inch shells. Changed it out for a Canada legal 4 shot 3 inch tube from S&J . Changed the bolt handle to S&J oversized. That is it for the mods. It runs flawlessly. I admit a larger bolt release button would top it off. But my big hands seem to have gotten used to it. I bought this gun because it proved to be the toughest out of all of them at the time. Quick enough for me , and the recoil still the lightest out of all of them. ( shoulder injury). I'm not able to have 3 or 4 shotguns on hand. So I believe this was my most reliable option I will have for the rest of my shooting days. I'm really enjoying your what not to do to your Benelli vid. And the rest of your vids. Looking forward to part 2 when I find it.

My expensive Briley handguard loosened after a couple of hundred heavy rounds and could never be tightened with the mag tube cap nut. Replaced it with an even more expensive BT handguard which remains solid as a rock. Also the Urbino stock I bought lost the rubber handgrip covering which I re-epoxied on and then continued to loosen as I fired more rounds, despite using Loctite on the installation bolt. Finally was able to get a collapsible real Benelli stock. Tried three larger bolt handles from FFT, all of which eventually flew out of the bolt at some point so I went to a bolt handle that was much lighter and just a tad bigger than stock. My carbon fiber mag tube self stripped the threaded end...I returned it to Briley for credit and replaced it with a steel unit. Meprolight sites that don't glow!! Thousands into this gun because of most aftermarket crap that has failed. I should have left it stock!!

Midwest industry has the BEST Mlok rail and you gain real-estate for the proper grip we all want. Plus you can add a real Mlok light on with minimal barrel shadow. Benelli plus 2 tube is the way to go and gun broker might be your best source. Tarin Tactical makes a good bolt release and charging handle, might as well the the safety button as well. GG&G has some parts as well. Carbon fiber isn’t for extreme use. Good video bro.

Awesome review! The bolt release on Benellis is (at least it used to be) so small because you don't need it. If the bolt is locked to the rear (and the gun is empty), all you need to do is press down on the new shell you're loading into the chamber when it's resting on the carrier/lifter. The bolt release is a slow redundancy.

Have never had an issue with my m4. Spot on about all the upgrade bs though. Aftermarket parts are insanely expensive for it. Mine is pimped out with an extended aluminum miok hand guard, steel 7rd tube, bubba stick bolt release (haven’t broke mine, but I don’t exactly punch it), rmr optics mount with a holosun 509T, stream light flashlight, and an ardius industries removable shell carrier. Has the factory pistol grip fixed stock which I prefer over the collapsible one. Puts it at over $3k and it is a beefy/heavy boy, but super fun and reliable to use. Have run drills with it, but not torture tested it yet. Put a shit ton of locktite on my tube when I assembled everything

As someone with a 922r compliant M4 that has a steady diet of 3000 regular 1600 fps rated 1oz slugs in 2.75 inch long shells for the last 8 years; they work great as-is but if you start using aftermarket shlockly parts, the M4 fails faster than a hipoint on steelcased ammo. If you're going to replace the factory magazine tube; use steel one only. Other than adding an optic I recommend leaving it as is. If you need a light, duct tape it to handguard
