I recently picked up a CZ 75D compact PCR and it is absolutely amazing. While you definitely don't need to do any modifications to it for it to be a great gun, I did a total internal polish-job and installed the cajun gun works pro package and it shoots like a dream. I shoot that pistol more accurately and effectively than any other pistol I've ever shot - which makes practicing with it an absolute blast and gives me a very comforting level of confidence in my ability to employ it, should I ever need to. If anyone here is on the fence about picking up one of the CZ 75 models, just do it and thank me later.

@grenmoyo39685 жыл бұрын
Most detractors of the beretta 92 dont like it because of their experience with m9's that were falling apart after exchanging hands for decades and not handling Iraqi and afghani dust well. Here in the states a brand new or well taken care of Beretta 92fs is a REALLY good and accurate weapon. To date it's probably one of or the best da/sa that's sub 1000 dollars.

The CZ-75 imo is one of the best pistols ever made... It feels like its molded for your hand, is very accurate because of the internal rails, and it improved upon any and all negatives of the Hi Power... I think everyone should at least handle one before deciding on what they prefer.
@ms.annthrope4152 жыл бұрын
The inverse rails really dont do much for accuracy. Accuracy is a function of consistent barrel lock up. Obviously ifnthe rails aren't straight, the barrel won't point at the same place each time either but thr inverse rail design does not by itself increase accuracy. What the inverse rails do, unfortunately is reduce the serration area on the slide making racking less secure as there is less purchase to grip and pull. Also adds to the weight from having a full length dust cover. But I respect CZ fir making a very reliable, smooth pistol right out of the box.

The triggers are great and the short reset triggers are a nice improvement. No safeties to screw with and they last forever, provided you do your part. I believe that it's a preference and as long as you can hit what you are aiming at then it's the best gun out there.

I bought a CZ-75B in the mid-2000's, and have put close to ten thousand rounds through it with no issues. It fits my hand nicely, hits what it's aimed at (assuming I do my part), and has very manageable recoil. Takedown, cleaning and routine service are simple. We're limited to 10-round pistol mags up here, and those for the -75 were relatively cheap compared to some other popular 9mm's, such as Glock. I bought mine slightly used (less than 300 rounds), and part of the package was a .22LR "Kadet" conversion kit and five .22LR mags. This kit works well, and is great for taking new shooters to the range. I know there are several good 9mm's out there, and I've owned or shot others. That said, if I had to pick just one it would be a CZ-75. Superbly made, easy to maintain, reliable as all get out, and a pleasure to shoot. Can't really ask for more.

I bought a BHP Mk. III in Jan 2016 that had sat on the shelf since it was mfg. in Oct. 2014. It was the only one in the Sparks/Reno area. They have since been discontinued. While it did not give me hammer bite, it did irritate the web of my hand, so I got a CS sear and skeletonized hammer for it. Works great now. I noticed in the video the "mousetrap" magazine and the mention of the poor trigger. Frankly I like the mousetrap and ordered extras soon after purchasing my BHP. The trigger is just a matter of getting used to. It is smooth until it comes to a rough edge, but then I know, one more slight pull on the trigger and it will immediately go off. Works for me! Not wild about the plastic grips on the Mk. III, so I got some wooden grips with the same thumb rest as the plastic ones, from Turkey and the Browning name on it. I admit to never having fired a CZ-75 or the others, but for classic looks, the BHP, has them all beat!

Sig 226 hands down. IMO the slide release is where it should be on every handgun. It's right where your thumb knuckle is and is faster than the reach or reposition required to reach other slide releases, like the 1911. On top of that it is a DA/SA gun which makes a manual safety unnecessary if you are familiar with operating. The Navy SEALS chose them over the M9 for a reason.

I, too, have a CZ.....85 in 9mm. I shoot left-handed and I love it. The 85 has since been discontinued.

And I'm so sad about it. Im left handed so I really wanted one, but I live in California and the 85 is illegal, and the ambidextrous 75's are really rare.

Actual Top 5 Wonder9 List: 5) Hi Power 4) CZ 75 3) 92 fs/m9 2) 59/39 1) 226/229 3, 2 and 1 could easily move up or down a position. 4 and 3 can also be swapped. A decocker only model 59 would put it above the 226...slightly (5926). Leaving the 59 off this list is like leaving the Glock off of the top 5 combat Tupperware list.

I turned 21 in the 80s when the Wonder Nines reigned. I so badly wanted a P7 but it was very expensive. All these years later and I’d still like to get one.

I wqnt one too. But the cost of having at least 5 magazines, preferably 10 mags would bankrupt me.

I've owned examples of each. I still own two hipowers and three cz75s. I think you forgot one, though. The Steyr GB. 18 round 9mm, gas operated with polyagonal rifling. Full size like the Beretta, but with a sold frame mounted barrel that made the gun very accurate. I have owned 5 of them. The magazines bring in $200+ now.

One gun that was groundbreaking, the Smith & Wesson Model 39. It was the first SA/DA 9mm pistol ever produced in America and was the first gun in what was Smith & Wesson's pistol line for 40 plus years until they did away with the metal framed guns and went to the M& P line they have now. I had a Browning Hi Power (Belgian late 60's ring hammer) and as much as I enjoyed it, my Model 39-2 is more pleasant to shoot and more accurate. It was a wonderful handgun.

I too was surprised at the exclusion on the S&W 39 and 59 series, as well as by the fact that no one else remarked on its exclusion.

I collect and shoot both rifles and pistols, and I have done so since 1971. I have several Browning Hi-Powers, all Belgium made. To improve the trigger pull, and to rid yourself of that magazine/ trigger release, I have removed the spring & attachment from each of them. With the use of a "punch", simply remove the part which touches the magazine. This lightens the trigger pull, and makes it very smooth. Other than that, I love the "Hi-Powers", and can truly find no other faults. I still have the purchase slip for the first "Hi-Power" which I purchased brand new for $127.00 plus two (50 round boxes of ammo were free.). Times have changed.

when people talk about the long service life of military pistols like the Hi Power or 1911, they always talk about it being a testament to how sound the design is. Maybe sometimes, but mostly it's a testament to how little pistols matter on the battlefield. You know why the 1911 wasn't replaced for 75 years? Because the people in charge of acquiring new weapons were focusing on weapons that made a difference.

I love my Sig P226. It was my duty gun for 14 years until I retired. Don't stress on the slide release so much; proper technique would have you use your other hand to pull back on the slide to release it upon reload anyway. I see the slide release as more of something you would use on this gun as you're cleaning it or performing maintenance (more of a fine motor skill and not useful in a combat situation). These guns are crazy accurate. I could always drive tacks with mine.
@izzytherat18 жыл бұрын
I carry a M11A1, the shorter version of the P226. They guns are super well built and accurate. Some don't like the high bore axis but manageable. Plus I shoot this pistol well,it fits my hands perfect.
@trishooty45138 жыл бұрын
+Blue Thunder I conceald carry my p226 every day. It is more accurate than I am, soft shooting and doesn't feel like a sodding brick like some other (albeit steel framed) guns.
@JeremyBechtold8 жыл бұрын
+Elton McCollum Yeah, I love my 226. It has sentimental value to me and I'll never get rid of it, but my concealed EDC is a 238. I like it way better than my ruger lcp. As it is, I have too many guns to carry regularly anyway so I just stick to the 238.

I haven't had a stock P226 in a while (they were always good), but have had the P227 and lately a P220 10mm and P229 Legion, quality is just fine. If I were in the market again for another 9mm in the Beretta 92 line, I'd go back to a Brigadier Elite II, which was pretty damn good!
