This is hands-down most innovative pump-action shotgun in years: no hyperbole, no exaggeration. It's very surprising how nobody has made a shotgun this modular yet. Many good features! optic cut, high-ready action release, modularity, and 870 parts compatibilty are all huge. I cannot put into words how big of a deal this is. Anyone who's worked-on/shot a lot of pump action shotguns should understand what I mean.

There are only 3 companies in the world that make quality shotguns: Beretta, Mossberg and Remington (Remington is trying their best to not stay on that list). Shotguns haven’t changed AT ALL in the last 30+ years. In that same period of time there have been 743 new polymer striker 9s, 387 new PCCs that are just range toys, and 3,213,670 AR accessories. It’s so bleak that people lost their shit when Beretta put two MLok slots on front of the A300. Believe me, there is room for some innovation in the shotgun market…

I agree, Glock you are paying for the name, and really it is just a mediocre gun that is very reliable if you don't limp wrist it. Make it have choke barrel options and make it run mini shells flawlessly and this will own the pump market. I'm getting ready to purchase a Mossberg 590s for a kind of do it all work horse shotgun but I'm absolutely going to pick one of these up when they release. It even looks better than the 590 and 870. PSA is really making all these other manufactures look bad. I love it.

A 590 is not really a do it all shotgun, so far only an 870 is(if you have one without a dimpled mag tube). Lack of ability to put chokes in, don't think there is a hunting barrel available on the 590. As far has a defensive shotgun the 590 is hard to beat without breaking the bank, but I think of it being specific to that role.

​@chizorama the 590S has chokes, takes mini shells, has 20" barrel option, ghost ring sights, mlok handgaurd, red dot cuts. What more do you want to define it for a do it all? They make bird guns in the 590 platform as well. You can literally hunt almost anything in North America with the 590S then take it home and use it for home defense.

And yet the tang safety (stolen from Mossberg 500), while ambidextrous, is still not ideal if you have a pistol grip or a pistol grip buttstock in use. Either of those and the tang safety is now out of (easy) reach. They really should put the safety in front of or behind the trigger (Maverick 88 and Rem 870 style, respectively) and also make it ambidextrous---which is a tall order.

@@redtra236 No it's still horrible. It snags on clothing, blunt objects, seat belts and similar either engaging the safety or disengaging it, when you didn't want to. Debris, snow, freezing rain can get in there too and render the safety inoperable. That's bad juju for a tactical/war/self defense weapon. Like, don't ever take it outside in the elements and you'll be fine.

PSA ROCKS! I can't wait to build one of these 570s with a 18 or 20 inch barrel, with screw in chokes, or maybe a fixed modified or improved choke (whichever one can hold the tightest pattern with buckshot but still tolerate slugs) and a 7 round tube. I love the idea of picking the tube you want rather than having to add on mag tube extentions that have a bad habit if working loose. This is gonna be sweet!

There's a company that makes mini shell kits for Mossberg and Remington. I'm 99% positive one of the kits will work. It's not just a rubber plug, it's the lifter and internal parts re-engineered. Runs anything from mini's to 3" magnums.

This is a big win for the shotgun crowd. Stripping the gun without removing the barrel, swapping mag tubes without a heat source, replacing receiver and bolt parts without a gunsmith, all of these are big improvements, and that's without the obvious ergonomic changes with the action bar release and having replaceable height front sights with a pistol notch rear. So many upgrades you'd only see from companies like Vang with features we didn't even know were possible, all in one package

Interesting. I like it, although personally I don’t think I’m gonna convert over from my Mossberg 500, which already has the main features that I wanted (tang mounted safety, easy to work on, substantial aftermarket support, barrels can be easily changed for different lengths, slugs, etc.) Optics ready and a high-ready action release… probably nice to have, but not essential for me. Still, if I didn’t already have a shotgun, this would definitely peak my interest. Well done PSA!

Has to be better than recent production 870s, my Ithaca 37 in 16 gauge that was made in 1940 is still functioning perfectly. My dads 870 in 12 gauge that he bought in 2017 has already worn to frequently misfeed and hang up when cycling the action.
