After two other abandoned attempts to learn Inventor (one in 2012 and the previous one a couple of years ago) this is the farthest I have ever gotten. And the reason for that is your easy-to-understand vids. Really, really helpful. While still a long way to go before I feel comfortable creating things, I am beginning to see that this program may not require sacrifices under a full moon and scattered chicken bones to comprehend. Thanks very much!

I took the free wheeling, devil may care attitude toward the dimensions as I followed the tutorial to create my model of this razor. I paid careful attention to the symmetry constraints and spline curve geometry and learned a great deal. and the other very well presented aspects of this tutorial. I'm very proud of the results this tutorial helped me to achieve. The hilarious part was when I measured the final razor handle it was 12.5 inches long !! Thank you.

Hi, would lofting along a helix be the best approach to design a tubular spiral slide? The final model would need to be in separate sections that can each be detailed on their own drawing. Any tips would be fantastic . Great Video by the way.

If you use the symmetry constrain you don't have to constrain the points horizontally or vertically to each other, that's an additional step that does not do anything and you can just skip it.

Thanks for this grate video again.I'm wondering what is the right way to SEAMLESSLY blend de twoo surfaces together.Like explained in the video at 19:50min. The sharp edge doesn't look nice in the zebra stripes Thank u in advance, Daniel

Spot on. Everybody can make a extrusion... The hard one, is to handle continuity's and smoothness in every transition between volumes. Which we don't see here. Imagine creating an entire dashboard... This software is not a proper A class creator. ICEMsurf is one of the example of the real thing without nurbs and fake approximations.

hi i like your tutorials, they are really helpful, is there any way you can split this curved loft in two parts for purpose of manufacturing ?
@Neil3D8 жыл бұрын
+Sarunas Greinis I'm annoyed with myself that I haven't done a guide yet on how to do that! I thought I had. Yea you use the split command and bust it out into a multi-bodied solid, I've done a video on multi-body solids but I can't remember if I used the split command in it. I'll get something done on that as soon as I can, probably not for another week as I'm away on business at the mo and unable to record!

at 12:13 you selected to create a sketch on the work plane. Is there a button to reorient to this working plane if you accidentally move the viewing angle? In Creo there is a "sketch orientation" button to quickly reorient to this working plane.
@Neil3D10 жыл бұрын
Chris Merani Yea if you look at the toolbar on the right of the screen, the one that's vertical, the bottom button I think is called 'Look At' and you can select that then the work plane again to reorient the view. It also has a shortcut key by default, I think it's the 'Page Up' keyboard button
@chrismerani533010 жыл бұрын
Neil, Thank you for the very quick reply. using the 'look at' then selecting the "sketch" from the "model tree" on the left worked perfectly. Thanks again for your videos. They are bridging the gap between Creo and Inventor for me!
