TFL Adjustable Stinger Waterproofing & Mods

My god you have saved the day again. I have been fighting my boat flooding with this stinger

I recently used a rubber grommet, cut one of the flanged sides off and it fit perfectly over the stuffing tube & in the stinger barrel.

Thanks for this Big B... you could well have solved my problem. I don't have a TFL stinger but a very similar designed CNC stinger on my Barracuda. I've had a water intake problem that I haven't been able to sort... so your silicone tubing sleeve idea is genius!! Defiantly trying that out 👍 I'm surprised that TFL don't manufacture that stinger with a reverse thread for CCW rotation props. Natural result if the barrel does come loose is to screw INTO the housing and not force it against the drive dog. Another great video bro, thanks for sharing 👍

The tfl adjustable stinger is sweet , just installed it last week and I’m very impressed with the workmanship and range of angle , ps the silicone tube on the stuffing tube is perfect 👍 works great !!! Just ironcladed it out can’t wait for a pass !!! Gonna hit and or break my pb for sure !! I hope 🤞 64 on revolt 30 , stuck on 64 🥴 but I’m good with that , still gonna try though 😂😳😎👍 boat gang for life

Yea Ijust replaced the motor in the deltaforce swapped the 4060 over to a 4082 1900kv getting it ready for a couple speed runs

@@IRONCLADRC got the 4074 2250 on 6s runs good top esc temp so far 142 with m645, motor 90 , flycolor 150 with cap pack

how do you keep the water from coming into the boat through the hard ware hole? Do you have any cheap options?

I use silicone when I nount my hardware

I've herd good things about it, as far as I know it's bullet proof. And easy to install

@@IRONCLADRC Also, not sure how much flex there is in the arms the bolt goes through. When taking out the material in between, you could add shims to the outside so they dont tweak to much. They sell brass feeler gauges that work great for having a good amount of thicknesses to work with.

The sales department made the engineers use a countersunk flathead screw because it LOOKS better. I'd have drilled out the threads and used a nut. I still reject Locktite. That barrel is adjustable for a reason. ? :)

To ruin abit of my DF build, i coult mention that i actually went with TFL Integrated Drive System, and i will cnc mill a new plate for the 40 size motor to fit (great to have that cnc around) I might Anodize it aswell, lets see if i like it :) I am thinking about stripping down rudder and Anodize it black, as my trim tabs and drive system is black.
