Diesel torque + front locker + front CV axles = a lot of warranty claims. Don’t blame them at all for only doing a rear locker. A front limited slip would have been nice though

@@MSparks9509 - or a Torsion front axel. Ford has copied a lot from GM lately, GMs turn!! It looks like Ford and GM are working together more than in the past. Wow they knocked this out of the park! I love my ZR2 Silverado 1500, amazing truck so far, I have just shy of 20k miles on it and loved it the whole time. Sad this HD ZR2 doesn't have the front locker, but I'm glad that they're going in the right direction with the push button rear locker. And the front diff with traction management and braking to lock it up is a step in the right direction still, but still sad it doesn't have the push button front locker.

Great video Andre! I would highlight that the new Chevy interior has the new GMC interior beat. Note in the 24 HD GMC it has the same column shift but the console is still same as the 1500 and the cup holders are still setting fore and aft on the right side, and blank shallow pocket fillers are on the left where the 1500 floor shifter sets. And no more dash storage pocket. Very happy to see this new HD Chevy still has the new big screen , still has the column shift, still has a storage pocket on top of the dash, still has the older right left cup holders in the console with much more storage space then the new GMC Hd.

As a Ram guy, I have to say this Chevy is AWESOME! I love that they maintained the heavy-duty integrity of the truck, but still factored in all of the off-road goodies. I have to admit that Chevy seemed to have gone a little further than Ram with the Rebel HD and Ford with the Tremor SD. Those 35s look really good on the truck, plus I bet it rides closer to a 1500 with the tall sidewall and DSSV dampers. Although the Bison is pricey, it will likely retain a higher resale threshold than the standard ZR2 HD due to the highly sought after AEV components. Chevy will sale every one of these that it can make! Whats that I hear, @TFL Truck: Oh yeah, a ZR2 HD Bison 6.6 GASSSERR going up the Ike!😊

Functionally since it’s so close to the pivot, it doesn’t work out that way. You can’t forget that down travel is just as, if not more important than, up travel. 2500s aren’t made to flex. This set up with its own front suspension components is so much better than “leveling” a regular factory 2500 with torsion keys or turning torsion bars, because when you do this you take away your down travel. Makes the ride even worse than factory 2500 rides can be. This is a huge win for “leveled” trucks. Too bad it’s so expensive.

Why is the bump stop almost touching the control arm already? The truck has almost 0 up travel?

Good looking truck, great interview. GM fails…this truck has no up travel!. The bump stops are riding on the lower control arm! And for the HD ZR2, GM should have eliminated the torsion bar and put in a coil over. Again no front articulation. And no front e-locker!? Big disappointment GM!

Why would they use the same shock from the 1500? I guess that means the 2500 shock will not be lasting very long??

I never understood why GM engineers have the lower control arm up against the bump stop under normal ride height.

Sounds like the front end is kinda like the old H1 Hummer in the front with applying brakes for traction would definitely love to see what this truck can do 🎉🎉

Can you find out if they can make a truck with independent suspension. No axels? Drive Train dow.n the sides of the frame.

Like most GM and Chevy products they put a lift kit on it at a scoop couple stickers some oversized tires on some non factory stock rims and then they ask 78K or $80,000 for a half ton truck which of course is an absolute total ripoff especially going to recession and then on top of that there's the unreliability factor of the GM products.

Andre, are the seats the same as their standard LTZ or do they have some extra bolstering like the 1500 ZR2?

No lockers no sliders no winch … as an enthusiast off-roader I can tell you this I’ve built a few Off-road GM trucks that are actually capable . GM builds emblems and splatters some paint on them. My current 1998 Yukon will out wheel anything GM has currently. Think ima change brands after 22 years
