Solid upgrades. I really didn't see this upgrade for the MT-09 coming, considering I thought it was quite up to date already. Of all the bikes I have owned, I still miss the CP3. Still holding my breath for a R9 announcement though.

The reason they made these upgrades is to accomodate the sports bike version of it which is going to be r9 can expect one soon enough

The headlight seems like a tease for how the front end of an R9 might look if they ever make one. The updated body, frame, and overall design seems like they’re going that way especially with the release of the XSR900gp. We shall see.

Crazy as it will sound, but I like the previous model headlight better…. And I don’t like that one either. Still, a pretty good update on the good ol’ MT09. Just put this new dash in the XSR900 and that one would be golden!

Crazy indeed, this one is at least proportionally sized. Personally the LED bars look much better more horizontal. And yes really hope they update the xsr900 as well because that is my prefered of the two.

The new SP needs Brembo Stylema and fully braided lines in order to be comparable to something like the Duke 890 R

What I don’t like is the placement of the TFT. It sticks out too much and without a wind deflector it’s gonna catch all the bugs and probably get scratched. And I don’t see where you can mount one

Hmm why position the projector headlamp on top when it can be below the "eyes" so it would be more in line with the older V2 and its younger siblings MT03 and MT 125/15. Weird light layout. I think the 2023 version is not so bad after all. Imo, the MT125/MT15 has the best face design in the MT series.

Headlight arguably looks better than the third GEN. I wonder if it spits out more light. Same with the gas tank. Let’s not forget it’s main purpose is to hold gas… Does it hold more gas? Lol

A. That's a high price increase. B. I'd be interested, but I had the FJ-09, but the suspension was terrible. It rode like it had no suspension at all, very rough. I loved everything else on the bike, but that suspension made it unrideable for any distance.

Am I the only one who liked the 3rd gen Headlight? It looked liked a part, like a camera, it looked like a mechanism. The others look like eyes or a face. And I think the more you can make it look less like a stupid face the better. The 3rd gen headlight was grimy, gritty, aggressive.

The one blunder Yamaha has made is with the bike's new approach to fitting a wind shield. Try it using the online configurator and you'll discover that to add any one of the three screen choices available necessitates having to also fit two extra (expensively priced) parts which gives the bike a really ugly appearance. It looks as though somebody has fitted a load of ugly scaffolding to the handlebars. Hideous!

CF Moto MT 09. 2023 SP has a better suspension, better paint, better riding position, nobody gives a poop about a quick shifter that lets you shift up decelerating. Tank and headlight are debatable. Display on the 2024 is better.
