It would be fun, but dating culture doesn’t work that way. Women don’t have to impress anyone. Most get hit on if they’re interested or not.
@zcon13 күн бұрын
I do want to see the opposite. Cars that women think attract men. As a man myself, I definitely have a list of cars that if driven by a woman would immediately pique my interest toward her and a list that would give me the ick. (Disclaimer: I, like Tommy, am married and niche tastes that likely apply to no one else and am extremely lucky to have found her. And my wife's cars are definitively the most attractive of all time: '96 green stepside regular cab chevy C/K 1500, an '01 Outback, and an '06 Subaru Outback 3.0 R LL Bean Edition Sedan 4D.)
@scottdean2714 күн бұрын
A lot of women don’t care at all about your car. Two true stories. I have a bright red Prius C. Yep, it is truly an economy car but it has been a great reliable car. I had a female co worker ask, seriously, if it was my mid life crisis car. Apparently she just saw it’s small size and color and thought it was a sporty car. Okay… This next story is even weirder… I’m eating lunch at a fast food place by the windows. A guy parks next to me in a red (same red) Nissan 350. It’s a great looking car. He and the woman in the passenger seat come inside, but before they order she looks like she forgot something and goes back out to the car. He stays at the counter and unlocks the 350 with his key fob. She tries to open my passenger car door, gets frustrated and looks in the window of the restaurant and then goes to the driver side of my car and tries that door. (The only similarity between these two cars is the color of the red paint.). She is mad now and comes back inside. He points to the two cars and points repeatedly and assertively at his 350. She goes back out and this time goes to his car to get her stuff. When they got their food and walked by my table I asked the guy “Wanna trade cars?” I thought it was funny, but he didn’t think it was funny. Point is, some women can’t tell an ordinary hatchback from a sports car, and probably don’t really care very much.

I think a woman driving a sports car - of nearly any type - makes a statement about her tastes and that she has a fun side. If a woman drives a Nissan Versa, on the other hand, I… hate to pass judgement, but I’d only hope there was a valid reason for doing so. But it would probably indicate this person makes bad choices, but not in a good way. 😅 As for my NA Miata - (I got it after I was married) - all the women say how cute the car is. 🤦♂️ I mean, they like it, but maybe as it reflects back on me, they feel I’m “safe”. I can see Miata guys getting “friend zoned”. I dunno, again, my experience is only after I’ve already married, so all the women are friend zoned. Now, pull up in an Aston Martin, and I think the ladies will be impressed. “Are you a spy?” Money, power, taste… I think that’s a car that would impress. That said, there was a lady who drove a new 2 door AM around where I lived, and all I could think was… well, I was just really confused. She seemed very mysterious. Certainly not approachable. 🤷♂️ Lastly, anyone who drives around in a crossover suv for no real reason = 👎. If you have kids, I get it. Or a hobby that requires transporting a bunch of stuff. Otherwise, that’s just being bland. My parents drive suvs. They’re good in the snow. They help them sit higher up to see in traffic - or not be unseen in traffic. But they are not exciting. It’s a boring safe choice for a vehicle.

Everybody likes to mock the NA as a "girls car," forgetting that that means girls are in fact into the NA Miata, and apparently don't usually have a stigma against guys driving one. Smart Fortwo 453 0.9L turbo, super cute, not fast, but very fun & pretty reliable. People, especially women are generally curious about mine or find her cute. They are also often surprised about how much you can actually transport with them, everyday things & weekend getaways are no problem, so is transporting a mini fridge & 2x4s. Only issues I've heard were; no friends can tag along & it doesn't feel safe. Although explaining safety features & how they compare to other cars does ease people in general about their safety, as well as beign a decent driver. I don't know if straight women would be attracted to a man in one, but as a woman, I get positive feedback about it all the time, even from men.

Ok ladies, here’s my hypotheses, what do you all think? It matters less about what particular vehicle you drive and more about the following: 1. Have either an interesting vehicle or something interesting about your vehicle. The idea is to create intrigue about the driver of such a vehicle. Almost every vehicle can have its own coolness if you play it right, sometimes the coolness can just be that it’s an old well kept beater that shows you can keep it running and care about it, and that you’re not all about the latest and greatest for appearance sake- especially if you then step out of it looking crisp and sharp. It’s kind of like male birds putting on a display- gotta get the attention first. 2. Show that you care about your vehicle by its upkeep or mods, but that you are not obsessed about your vehicle. Don’t over do it. 3. Drive it like you don’t care, like it’s just another car. When you park it walk away from it with an air of, whatever- it’s just my vehicle, it doesn’t define me. Don’t be that guy trying to park his Lambo in the no parking zone right in front of the restaurant so he makes sure everyone can see (and for gawds sake please make sure you can actually park it- nothing worse than drawing the attention to show off and then botching it). Bottom line- buy a vehicle for yourself, keep it nice but don’t obsess over it, and drive it without an entitlement attitude but with an air of quiet confidence. Luckily already married though, so if I’m way off I’ll be Ok. Lol.

Kase is with me for the ones I like, but Jen agrees with me most on which I think women would like. Personally, drive what you like and potential dates will pick up on it. Drive only what you think will impress others, and your date will pick up on that, too.

When I met my wife, I had a 1994 Honda Civic DX. I can unequivocally say my car was not what attracted her to me, other than possible I was living with in my means. I drive manual not to impress anyone, I just hate not knowing when Torqueconverter will grab...

Funny that at the end of the 1st video I was thinking a stock FJ60 or FJ62 would be a good choice and it pops up in this video.

MGB for sure! The only problem is it also attracts quite a few old men at gas stations...
