I just bought a new 2020 CLA 250 very similar to this, except it’s not 4MATIC and it’s in white. It has the same wheels, interior and options. Absolutely love my car! The more I drive it, the more I enjoy and appreciate it. The interior is sumptuous and feels like a more expensive luxury sedan. The MBUX infotainment is top class, even better than the AUDI in my opinion. It drives and handles like a dream, with another HP and torque to satisfy most driving enthusiasts. I agree that I wouldn’t pay $54k, I only paid $41k for mine and purchased the four year maintenance plan too. With tax and license I paid $48k. Well worth it in my opinion.

It's more, but the parts are much better and have much higher quality. You can't compare that. Chevy and Ford, or other brands use cheap, older tech products that aren't fitted with so much high tech like Mercedes or BMW. Not comparable..

SDav21 the maintenance costs for German luxury vehicles spike after a few years of ownership here. So when trying to sell say a 3 year old car buyers factor in that maintenance cost compared to say a Lexus which sells for a lower price when new and doesn’t have maintenance that spikes after only a few years.

I'd be worried about depreciation of any of these ICE premium vehicles. I wouldn't chance it. As Merc moves to EV what happens to the value of their old vehicles in that price sector. Maybe this is the reason Tesla is out selling them in this price range.

Once you look past the surface and the Mercedes badge, the CLA 250 is just a basic car that’s super overpriced for what it is. Aside from being the cheapest way to tell people you bought a new Benz, I can’t see anything special about it. The Genesis G70, Kia Stinger, and Toyota GR86 look and drive way better for the same amount of money.

I have the C300 4Matic and it is TOO small in the back for most people. So the CLA250 is bound to be worse. I personally would not buy or lease it. I would forget it. And that auto voice interactive system is ridiculous. Don't like the transmission control.

C350 4matic, almost fully loaded, brand new in 2012 was $45,000. My c450 in 2016 decently loaded was $61,400. For 2020 year models they can go over $70,000 and they are not even c63s.

The CLA the GLA to me, have too many curves and the trunks are too small. Even the current C and E class vehicles can hardly fit luggage on a trip for 3 people. Car rental companies always depict them having more space! Seems like the current “ climate crisis “ is screwing the designs of vehicles. Nope. The current c class is out dated. Best strategy is to get in one of these on a lease for 3 years and then if the c class is still affordable and equal in tech and styling to jump into a c class after. Its going to take 1.5-2 years for them to come to the states anyway after the redesign.

The engine of the new cla e250 is from renault dacia. the same as the hybrid system, and that is not a positive thing, etc., but quite the opposite and also buys and pays a mercedes benz and gets a renault, at a higher price, the cla 250 gasoline engine if it is authentic Mercedes benz and it works quite well just like the more balanced and cheaper A 220 engine but well, the other 163 hp and 134 hp engines are also renault dacia and that is again negative for a premium brand like mercedes benz, its alliance with generalist brands is It's only good to make more money, but it lets your customers down who buy cheap, lower-quality engines and sell them at premium prices for that reason, I don't. For cheap fake plastic air intakes and holes that are absolutely useless, better a beautiful front fog lights and LED daytime running lights on the front skirt part, and not huge rear holes jilla and ugly plastics etc. and the same is true of new audi models and other premium brands. Very expensive and not very standard equipment, and they are also almost all the same photocopies with designers without character or personality.,, ... Mercedes benz must take care of those details and especially less parts made in China and more quality control, etc., the Cla is not made in Germany either if in Hungary, this yellow car is beautiful and very elegant, inside with a large screen and a digital instrument panel is very beautiful and looks good quality, another piece of information is not positive abusing piano black in addition to being ugly and dirty is scratched just by looking at it. This 224cv engine is very balanced but it is quite expensive and should include more standard equipment and more quality, etc.

I feel like an entry level Merc or BMW or whatever would be rather anticlimactic. At first you'd be like woo! Got a Benz for the price of a Camry! Then after a month or so when you make the payments and still have to, you know, work...you're like meh this isn't so great, it has few features, and it's the same payment as and drives like a loaded Camry. I mean a 4 pot, FWD, 6.3s 0-60 car isn't exactly exciting. It's also not special when everyone in Baltimore has one on a low mileage lease.
