I like the sorta hood over the entire screen. Makes it look built it rather than just stuck up there. More cars should do that.

I used to sell the Nissan Murano when it 1st came out in the 2000s in L.A. CA. Most of the customers for it tended to be younger women on their way up in their careers. The Murano was luxurious, reliable (had the VQ35 engine as standard), and powerful, but not pretentious. Back then , the top of the line model would top off at close to USD $45K. Considering inflation, and all the new tech and gadgetry in the Murano now, at around USD $52K, it is indeed a bargain! In my opinion, of course.

I owned a 2003 Murano SL and I loved that vehicle. The seats were the most comfortable of any vehicle I owned other than the 2012 Titan Pro4X. The V6 made good power and the AWD system was very good. Luxury? Not really, frugal above its class? Probably.

The Murano was the first real successful “near luxury” mid size SUVs. They still are d*mn comfortable as far as they are getting long in the tooth. Hopefully they carry this forward. A friend has had a Murano no more than 2 years old ever since they were released! Haha. He has owned them from day 1 so to speak. They have decent power, even with the CVT, and I enjoy being a passenger riding in the rear seat whe we go on a road trip with our spouses or as the guys. The miles just melt away. Going to the turbocharged 4 cylinder is not necessarily detrimental to performance because the turbo engines have the torque down low. It’s a rare time for me to lament the sound of an engine, but that 3.5 then 3.7 V6 from Nissan is one of the best sounding V6 engines out there. Its rivals a nice small block 350! 😂. Really it does sound great. I’m sure my friend will be getting one soon, if he doesn’t already have one on the way. I’ll call him later on! 😊😊 Fun, goofy review with a very accurate twist to describe the market this vehicle targets!! 😂😂. Thanks to all involved!! 😊

@damilolaakanni5 күн бұрын
@donwilber1628 it was at least 9 years old in 2024, people would generally avoid cars when they see that there's a newer one on the market. That and the fact that the Murano solidified Nissan's reputation for making bad transmissions.
@C10sRule5 күн бұрын
@ - they did have that transmission,,,, haha. My friend only had 2 go bad & both under warranty. The second time he left the vehicle with the dealership to fix as his trade in & drove home with a new one!! I think he is just comfortable in them. Kinda like a few family & friends that owned several Tundras from 2007 - 2021. 3 family members have decided they will keep their 2021s they bought until they die!! Haha. Familiarity (and great reliability in the Tundra’s case) goes a long way in certain portion of the market!

51 is a solid price for a nice SUV now. Good move away from the cvts for them. But damn is that front end ugly. I would probably end up in a Mazda for that price tho. They're hard to beat for quality and price. I'm ok with their infotainment since my mom's had a cx9 for awhile.

I think for a mid tier brand, Murano's this one included. Tend to be nice for what they are. Last Gen before this I though was way prettier than it's Infinity counterpart. I'm w/Alex that double split not a fan of. But overall I think its a pretty vehicle. Nobody's Rose beats Lexus's on the RX though. How about some real data like 0-60 times of the new turbo 4 vs the old v6. Testing the sound levels while cruising and under full throttle would be good too. Even if you are just hauling kids around you still have to accelerate and merge onto the interstate. How much power it has is important in family haulers too.

Aweful review. It's like watching a bunch of teenagers who know nothing automotive try and review their parents car. So much random, useless talking. They should stick to making non-automotive youtube videos. This was painful to watch. Sorry TFL, but this is not good journalism. Maybe TFL is trying to target teenagers who are addicted to watching internet videos? Either way, seems strange because i dont think the audience this video will attract is the audience who is interested, or can afford a Nissan Murano... or any other car over $5000

This is a ZF 9 speed transmission (same one as in the Pathfinder, Honda Passport, Chrysler Pacifica etc). They shifted rough in the early years (circa 2015-2020), but I don't know much else about that transmission. My concern would be with the engine, it's a VC turbo which was known for issues in the Infiniti QX50.
