I have rode motors of 700k miles,40 states, 7 country's and 3 continents. Always sore after a 600 miles ride in one day. Now with the slingshot I can ride it for 800 miles a day and NOT BE HALF as sore as a motorcycle. Love my Slingshot

My brother bought one, my dad bought one, then I bought one. We are cross the states from each other. Happy with my toy. My stepson has autism and loves the wind. Wouldn't work well for him on a bike but he sure loves the slingshot. Talked to over couple who love to ride bike, some can't ride anymore and look for alternative. Motor is just fine and easy to maintenance. Motorcycle battery in it is annoying. Put gas in it at an easy pace, 10 gallon tank. At 6'1" the Windshield is to short. I love it.

People who don't own one, don't get it. My wife and I took our's on vacation to Florida from Missouri. 14 hours one way. Yes I was ready to cut my throat when we finally got there, yes we got rained on, but loved every minute of it. Even hit the tail of the dragon on the way home.

@John B area I run around in there are bugs. Windshield helps deflect some of them. I added wind deflectors to corners of windshield and it helped lots. I do look through windshield

I have this exact model. Polaris dialed these way back when it comes to preformance. Do a 1320 preformance header, upgrade the intake & filter, flash the computer, get that junk gear oil & shifting fluid replaced with red line. Nite and day difference. Before upgrades 24-26mpg Speed struggled to reach 65mph. After upgrades I'm pulling 32-34 mpg at 65 and I can haul ass 90mph in 3rd gear. Feels like a monster. Will bark, gets a little scary but fun as hell now.

Its better then like a 35k suburu BRZ--handles at close to 1.3G with ease--so it can outhandle even most exotics. It is a niche vehicle and has a visceral feeling you can only get on this or a bike and this slingshot is 50 timese better then a bike.Half of all bike wrecks are not contact --its folks falling off--so right off the bat you have eliminated half those wrecks--and you have a seatbelt.It gets more looks then anything you could own--and I own a 2020 stinger AWD 3.3TT and that gets some looks but the slingshot is on another level.It is a great weekender.if you have a responsible freind you could share one.My freind also owns a vette--2012--so we both have capable cars--but for a weekend trip to the mountains--nothing beats a slingshot and it is very easy to drive--I just would not push the limits with one back tire--and you do not need to--it can easily outhandle most things on the road--I have a very capable AWD Stinger--stinger is overall faster--but the polaris can fly thru mtn roads faster--faster then my stinger or freinds vette--both capable cars.get a full windscreen and enclose it if you want to drive it more.Its been reliable and fun

If you want a fast one Alpha powersports came out with a turbo v-8 package. It's not a motorcycle in my mind at all, 3 wheeled car yes. A fun ride in the mountains on a nice day for sure

I still don't understand the Slingshot. They aren't that quick and the prices are insane. I saw a few ladies driving one of these when I was in Las Vegas last summer... it was 116 degree F that day.... looked absolutely miserable.

We rented a Slingshot in Gatlinburg, we agreed it was like a 3 wheel Miata. Nothing about the experience made us think 'motorcycle'. It was fun with the manual shift, much like a Miata...The Tri Glide is looking more attractive to us.

i think they should make one of these with four wheels and more power. It would be a lot like a side by side for the streets. I think a bare bones car cycle thingy whatever you wanna call it would be a fun toy and would selll well if they put it at the right price. The price is a big problem rn with it. You coulf buy a manual miata for the same price pretty much and have the same experience plus you wouldn't need to wear a helmet

Welcome to TFL Alex. You did a great job. Projecting and visual contact is spot on. Your knowledge of the vehicle comes through very confidently. Your opinions, objections, likes and facts are very informative. TFL made a good choice in hiring you. As for the vehicle itself, well, pricey for a toy. Engine choice is crap. I can think of a lot of other vehicles for that price I would pick instead. It would be a unique experience to cross off a bucket list of vehicles to drive. But that is all it would mean for me.

You mentioned the speedometer goes up to 220. But, isn't there a setting where you can just flip it to KPH? 220KPH is about 137MPH. Probably still out of reach, but much more reasonable ya?

the speedometer was make to be use in both configuration, you can easely switch from kph t mph in 2 sec, the big nuber are for kph

If you dont like this is because you dont get the point, the appeal to this is that its neither a car or a motorcicle.... if you see it in person your head will spin with a wtf look. yes, bikes are cheaper and corvettes are pricier but they are everywhere and anywhere... this thing just looks like a lot of fun and chiks love new and exotic toys... i will buy it...

Alex, have you ever driven a Miata? I owned a 2002 Miata when this thing came out, and I've owned motorcycles. The SS is like the worst of both worlds. A Miata with decent tires and suspension is far more fun to drive, and if it rains, just put the top up.

Polaris has abandoned the Eco-Tec for 2021 models. They now are equipping the Slingshot with their own proprietary inline 4. Designed in Minnesota. Built in Wisconsin. With over 200 HP on a 1700 Lb frame.

@@wcjeep you are correct, there is many other vehicles you could get for the same price. a miata would honestly probably be a better option to most people, but after owning one i can say its a different experience. lets you play and slide around when you want and is pretty easy to handle even with tcs completely off. im sure in the future someone will release an ac/heat kit because the driveline is basically out of a solstice and i couldnt imagine it being hard for a company to make one.

saw one of these "things" on the road today. Absolutely without a doubt the dorkiest looking vehicle of ANY type to ever travel on pavement. It blows my mind people would pay such huge money for something that looks like a very large crab with wheels and actually drive it on a highway out in public. For the money you spend on one of these extremely cheaply built ridiculous crabmobiles why not buy a convertible car and drive something with a little class that has to be WAY safer than these plastic monsters. Plus you don't have to wear a helmet in the car but in helmet states you do with one of these things...what does that tell you. NoThank you I will walk....
