I got mine in 2017. Slr I love it. My first road was 1700 miles. I set my Cruise control at 75 . I got 28.8 mpg round trip..stay under 60 and I get 30 mpg plus. The mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina killed my mileage

So what would entice me to buy this when I can get a base Saturn sky with the same engine and power for under $10k? I could even get the redline edition with 260hp and a turbo for less than half the MSRP on the slingshot
@goku781
@goku781 5 жыл бұрын
It's kinda like the Saturn would be 720p, and Slingshot 1080p, it's a higher definition being open and so close to the road. It's a different experience and a toy for most people that buy these. I remember when I first saw one at a car show, when the were debuting. Thought it was pretty kool.

They are so under powdered for the money. I am surprised they keep selling them. I had a chance to drive a few models over the years. I keep wanting to love it I think for the money there Ariel Atom is much better. You can find a use one at a good price.
@DanielGarcia-sh4xj
@DanielGarcia-sh4xj 4 жыл бұрын
Of course the Atom is better, but base price is 20k on a new slingshot and cheapest new Atom starts at around 50k. Used slingshot I seen is 10k, cheapest Atom I seen 38k, for that 28k more u could throw in a LS3 vette engine to get 450hp+ in it and still have more than15k to spare.

What an Awesome, Great Review, Thank You! What I love about the Slingshot is the price. I don’t think it has cheap looking interior like some folks say. If they use high end looking interior materials it will bump up the price. If you are concerned about the noise there are noise canceling high tech helmets out there. Also, thank you very much for the automatic feature for the 2020 model, but the auto shift and brakes needs improvement!🙏

@agfcotten
@agfcotten 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, but... If you add a roof, either the Slingshade or one of a number of aftermarket options such as my Stinger roof, made by Twistdynamics, you'll need to try it first. In many states, you wear a helmet, so that adds a bit to your height. A fried who loves mine is 6'4", about 280, and he fits under my Singer roof. No roof, no problem. (He would prefer an aftermarket windshield that's maybe a couple of inches taller, to get more of the airflow going above his helmet. At 5'9" my stock windshield does fine for me.)

looks cool, but I don't see much of a market for these vehicles. I could buy a Harley Davidson Ultra touring bike or a Mazda Miata convertible, depending if I wanted a bike or a sports car, for the price they are asking for this thing. Can't take it for a weekend getaway because of lack of storage. With the 3 hard bags even the Harley has more storage capacity. Thanks, but no thanks.

Kyle, just a word of advice. I've been following your channel for a number of years now. I understand the need and desire to expand your brand to other things. As a fellow KZbinr, I get it. You started off as a car reviewer, so please stick to it. That's why people watch your channel. All of these project car videos are fine, as long as you keep them to the odd one in a blue moon or so, The reason why your views have stagnated is because you've uploaded far to many of these project videos and not enough review videos. You've gotten away form what made you famous and why people have been drawn to your channel in the first place -- unbiased car reviews. The odd project video is fine, but the dramatic shift to these project videos and away from reviews has been a determent to your channel in my honest opinion. I love your reviews and so do many others. That's why we continue to tune in. We don't mind the occasional project video or occasional video that is out of the ordinary, but please please please don'f forget what got you to where you are now -- car review. If you continue to minimize your reviews in favor of project videos, you will only lose viewers and subscribers. I feel I can say this honestly to you because I've been watching you for so many years now that I respect your opinion and respect your place amongst automotive journalists that I'd had for you to lose that in favor of automotive mechanic/project videos which you are not known for. Please keep the project videos to a minimum and keep up the reviews.
@saabkyle04

I appreciate you taking the time to provide your honest feedback but I have to respectively disagree. KZbin has been slowing my channel down for the last couple of years. It doesn't matter what content you put up if people don't even get a chance to watch it. Look at the Supra video, it's one of the lowest viewed ones out there. Either people don't care, which isn't the case, or barely anyone got notified. The project videos, whether you like them or not, has saved this channel. If the others don't want to support it, then I guess they're free to watch any of these other channels that are blossoming under the youtube algorithm. I'm also tired of living stressed on a day to day basis. When I did more reviews, no matter what, my videos were getting lower views than anyone else. I did the projects because I was sick and tired of competing. KZbin should be fun. If that means uploading more random content that's relatable and fun, then so be in. Life is too short to be miserable. I did what people asked me to do, I'm shooting in my old review style but it makes no difference. This is NOT a problem with me, this is a KZbin problem. Nothing I do makes a bit of difference and I'm tired of trying to figure it out when the system is clearly against a lot of older channels.

nice in depth review. the video is hella-shakey during the road segment, so would you say the ride is really bouncy and harsh, i.e. would a long roadtrip be a backbreaking ride? i also saw a video where the drinks jumped right out of the holders during a ride. any comments on that?
