Don't see many of each come into the shop. The YFZ guys bring in just the motors to get freshened up and the only Raptors that come in were just bought and we give them a damage assessment from the previous owners abuse and neglect. The YFZ has the engine from the YZ450 dirt bike of about 15 years ago and would be better if it had the current one. Here are the compression ratios: Raptor 10:1; YFZ 11.8:1; Current YZ450 13:1. The YZ still uses titanium valves which is a very good thing since it revs freer as well as reduces stress and wear due to the weight reduction but now uses 4 valves because 5 is unnecessary. I have the YZ450 as well as the Raptor (2024) and I chose the Raptor because it has the reliable Grizzly engine and will run better on good pump gas because of its lower compression ratio plus it can be modified to beat the YFZ in many ways and match it in others.
