When TFL took the Tacoma on the "Toaster Test" Andre said the "normal" operating transmission temperature of the Tacoma is 220 degrees Fahrenheit. So it's not surprising that the Toyota Tacoma has transmission problems. A transmission can never run too cool. The hotter a trans gets, the faster it causes premature wear (damage) on the internal rubber seals and the aluminum valve bodies. Towing uphill with an aftermarket trans oil cooler, the temperature should stay under 212 Fahrenheit (100 Celsius). At 230 degrees Fahrenheit (110 degrees Celsius) the transmission is too hot. At 248 Fahrenheit (120 Celsius) you should be looking for somewhere to pull over.

Usual guidance for selling a modifed vehicle is that youll get about 1/3rd of what you put into the vehicle back. Modifications are very personal and everyone wants something a little different. Its best to keep the stock oarts and swap them back on then sell the aftermarket stuff. You might get about >50% of your momey back.

@Jay-me7gwАй бұрын
Its all in the tuning. The problem is when you tune the truck to run lean, which means no coal rolling, it also increases cylinder pressure and temperature and NOx output rises, which is the whole reason for the SCR and DEF. Anything below something like 18 or 20:1 air fuel ratio in a diesel and you start to get soot. Thats why they have a DPF. So they are stuck balancing between the two. Which is why you have both a DPF and DEF/SCR.
@jammazonАй бұрын
Great content as always guys... SO - Having owned a turbo tuning business in Denver, I can tell you that boosting turbos and tuning engines at altitude is often more of a good thing than a bad one. Generally the modern engine management systems are WAY too fuel rich and air low (conservative to anticipate detonation) and dont properly compensate for the 5000-8000 ft ASL around the front range of CO. So, the Denver 100 could have better MPG IF that Ford tune is worth anything. I cant wait to see the results.

The Frontier is available in a Pro-X trim (2WD) with an extended (king) cab with a long box and has a payload capacity of 1,590-1,620 lbs, and the Canadian MSRP is between $32,000-34,000.

Then look at the high cost of the Ranger Raptor and after spending only $32,000-34,000 for a 2WD, King Cab, long box Frontier the amount you save can be spent on aftermarket parts to make the Frontier a fun "Prerunner" (like the Ranger Raptor) or customize it for your personal needs. Chris Forsberg has customized a couple of Frontiers and since he has a close relationship with Nissan I hope they get inspired like they did with the Nissan Frontier Forsberg Edition.

They’ve always been overpriced or expensive. Although prices haven’t really changed by historical standards. Nominally the number has gone up because inflation happens every year and compounds over time. But in real terms most vehicles have remained about the same price. And quadcab trucks are cheaper than the original ones made way back in the Great Depression, they used to be about 8 years wages back then if you were at the bottom of the totem pole income wise. A modern quadcab with all the bells and whistles is 2-3 years wages. I own a mustang my father bought new back in 1971. He paid 3,319$ or as he put it 2 years wages at the time if you were at the bottom of the income spectrum. If I look at a modern one same trim and everything well what do you know still roughly 2 years wages.

The couple of video presentations that seemed to me be the closest echo what I shared initially. I would anticipate that in a country such as Norway with most electricity generation from renewables, or France with a lot of nuclear, that the overall emissions created by an EV would be considerably less, as you contend. But in most other areas of the world I am very skeptical based on what I have read. I would genuinely appreciate if you have any references to share that include more in-depth analyses on the subject, as I would likely enjoy those. It does seem to me that going forward, as the battery technology improves (assuming some things such as the necessary metals remaining sufficiently abundant) and IF most countries are able to move to mostly clean energy, that EVs may likely be the future. But I’m not entirely sure that is all a given. Even Toyota has essentially stated that they are not sold on EVs being the future.
