12:16 - That was really cool of them. They easily could have just driven by or driven over that gopro, but they didn't. They picked it up, left it running, and returned it without any hesitation once they found someone on the trail who appeared to be using cameras. Those are good people, and deserve a shout-out for their good morals and effort. I also liked that Andrey was recognized on the trail by the sub in the Jeep caravan, and that we got to see him comment on this very video. Both interactions make offroaders in Moab look really good, in my eyes.

great review, I'm buying a new Tundra this year and plan on pairing with a camper. This camper is nice and from what I have seen the new Tundra's have a lot of tech to help with towing, as do other trucks. I'm getting a Tundra to replace my 20y/o Tundra with almost 300K miles and never any major repairs

We have had our HQ19 for most of a year. We have taken it offroad a bit and was very surprised with how well it survived. We did bottom out and broke our sewage dumping port, but we were able to continue the adventure. We love this trailer for how rugged it is. We pull it with a 2020 Tundra. The trailer is more rugged then our truck. Thanks for doing the video!

Owned this same trailer for 2 years. Pulled it with a 2011 GMC 1500 with 6.2 gasser. Averaged 7-9 mpg depending on terrain. The trailer was definitely pushing the limits of the half ton when fully loaded. I upgraded to a 2018 gmc 2500 duramax.. I would definitely recommend a 3/4 ton. I averaged 11-14 mpg depending on terrain. A gas 3/4 is probably the perfect median. However the exhaust break is always a much appreciated luxury.

If you've never tried the roadmaster active suspension, they're cheap and easy to install and work awesomely for reducing sag and sway under load and have little affect on ride when empty. I e had some for 4 years and never had to readjust, I just check from time to time. I was in boulder for the first couple years I had them and went up numerous off.road crawls and had a contractor setup on back that I was often at or near max payload.

Super nice off-road camper! Just would not want to get stuck and need to get pulled out from the front while pulling the the trailer. With no tow hooks on the front what would you attach to? I have been super interested in this truck and was excited about it coming out but I will hang on to my current truck until they re-design and add front tow hooks. Why not go really different from the other manufacturers and add a 2” receiver on the front?

I also think an off grid camping trip with Andre’s Powerboost F150 would be cool showing reliability of the onboard generator over multiple days of powering this camper. Also, can the F150 generator provide power to the camper while going down the road with the purpose of providing power to the refrigerator?

What is significant about the tundra and different from other brands is they offer a lowered version of the truck! I don’t think I have seen a review of it, it gets very little mention. I think it’s called TRD Sport. Most gloss over it as an appearance package BUT if you haul motorcycles and/or trailer motorcycles you will prefer a lowered truck as opposed to a lifted one. I was blown away when I saw one at a dealership, didn’t know it existed.

I like these "travel" videos, but a second person is needed. Whether Andre & Nathan, Roman & Tommy, Tommy & Case (or Alex). There should be a duo dynamic, which would also help getting two perspectives on the trip.

Great video Guys, just a suggestion, when towing a caravan , especially off road. It is best to remove the TV off its mount and lay flat on the bed. It saves breaking them.

Yes towing a caravan with TV's not laying flat is a recipe for disaster

This was a pretty good example of what the 3.4L TT engine is focussed on - unloaded urban truckenite use. It's almost a direct comparison to my setup (different trailer though). I tow 6800lbs with my 5.7 V8 mostly longer trips in the Rocky foothills and passes, and my towing average going West (mostly rising terrain) is just over 24.5L/100km, and going East, it's 22L/100km. That's 9.6mpg and 10.7mpg. On pretty flat midwest highways, I get 17-19L/100km (13.8-12.4mpg) towing that load. I still think that the 5.7L with dual injection paired with either the 8-speed or a 10-speed would have been a great engine choice for those wanting to use this truck as a work / tow vehicle. Judging from other applications of dual-injection and overdrive (8-10 speed autos), Toyota could probably have gotten to a close to perfect mix of power, simplicity, efficiency under load, and durability. The single 3.4L option (hybrid or not) was primarily a cost-saving decision for Toyota...pity. Oh, and TFL, I'm a numbers person so please stop calling it a damn 3.5L engine, 3.44 rounds down to 3.4 not 3.5!
