How do you know anyone's wealth? Do you think that most people can afford anything they have and that they aren't in massive debt to temporarily possess such things? @hawkman302
@hawkman302 Жыл бұрын
@@blackonblack...9244 oh I know. Trucks are also on a grander scale used by people who don’t need a truck at all. They use it as a status symbol vs towing or hauling. Police gravitate to SUV’s so they can have more equipment that is protected by the elements. The only police vehicles that are a pickup are usually a CSO (community service officer) who does road debris pickup, found bikes, and other traffic related tasks that may require cones or barriers. For state level, DNR will use them as they may need to take dead animals, traps, or equipment as evidence. All in all, if you can’t gut up on a tailgate, you may need to do something that was invented in the 80’s like jogging or something. On another note, the auto industry is junk today. The lifts on trucks only raise the CG and don’t have a real benefit to the user.

I am curious if they couldn’t just use the back-up camera to detect the objects that could interfere with the tailgate operation and auto lock-out that portion of it. A similar concept to the lock-out mechanism that prevents minivans from opening the sliding door when refueling.
@Shiver2002
@Shiver2002 Жыл бұрын
It would be easier to just not allow that portion to open if a trailer is connected

Not good enough I want an app to control my tailgate with my phone from a mile away . Give it to me now. I will go crazy without it. I also want a screen in my gate so I can watch tv as I work. And refrigerated cup holders too. .Seriously, this tailgate alone costs more to replace than my entire Nissan pickup is worth.

If you use you’re truck for truck things you don’t need this, a normal tailgate works and has worked just fine for 80+ years and will continue to work for another 80+ years assuming that we’re still allowed to have trucks that get low gas mileage/run on gas in 80 years. This is just another point of potential failure added to an already unreliable gm pickup.

Having had the Ram gate/tailgate, I absolutely loved it towing as I could just open the small side and do what I needed or it was a regular tail gate. AND, I loved opening it like doors and in a short bed, I could almost reach to the back of the cab. It was wonderful at the transfer station. I was sad I couldn't get it on my HD/2500... I was the same with the Ram Boxes. I frankly was ambivalent or skeptical on both of them but they came with the deal on the lot. The boxes were great for store items when you got dogs in the back of the cab. They couldn't get to the meat and it was easy to access the items.
