Also, I noticed the rear seat screens are hanging from the backseat like an ornament unlike the Expeditions that are intergrated into the seat. Lastly, I heard a lot of fuss about not buying an Expedition because of the turbo V6. Why is the lack of LED brake lights and rear turn signals a deal breaker when you're buying a mainstream full-size non-luxury BOF SUV? Many other new SUVs/CUVs and lower trim pickups use incandescent turn signals, yet those don't get bashed for the lack of LED turn signals just to look more "Modern"..? If you want rear LED turn signals, you're looking at a luxury branded vehicle, not a mainstream utility vehicle like the new Suburban and Tahoe.

I’m really interested in what the towing MPG’s will be on one with the diesel. I’d like to pick up the Tahoe with the diesel to do some cross country RV’ing. Im gathering that the Non Z71 should get better MPG’s due to aerodynamics and tires. 8200LBS is ok for towing capacity in the Tahoe but disappointing compared to the expedition’s 9300LBS.

I will never understand how GM was the world’s largest car manufacturer at one time.
@JAMESYBOY.4 жыл бұрын
Why is that hard to understand and they still are one of the largest car manufacturers in the world
@apolloniaaskew94874 жыл бұрын
GM once made city buses, invented the diesel locomotive, made semi trucks, buses for Greyhound and invented the automatic transmission, starter , planned obsolescence, styling and colors other than black. The company made car lines for different incomes; Chevrolet for value, Pontiac for performance, Oldsmobile for business people, Buick primary for upper middle class and doctors and Cadillac for the rich people and GMC trucks and buses.

the biggest difference is 3rd row leg room ,my son is 6 foot and complains he cant fit in the 3rd row, we have a 2018 suburban with a bench seat so im not sure if its due to not having captains chairs

The Trailblazer Z71 made in Thailand could be a nice addition to the Suburban and Tahoe family, they just have similar front end design.

I seem to remember so much fuss being made about the Ford touch screen not being intergrated into the dash on the Explorer. Now Chevy does it on the Tahoe and Suburban and not a word. Also, I noticed the rear seat screens are hanging from the backseat like an ornament unlike the Expeditions that are intergrated into the seat. Lastly, I heard a lot of fuss about not buying an Expedition because of the turbo V6. Yet, these two new trucks have air suspension, which cannot be bulletproof and is guaranteed to give problems before 100k miles. Just saying guys

Ever consider doing the same exact tow test using a 2021 Tahoe with the 5.3L engine using the same heavy duty option package? After all its the one engine thats sold on the majority of the Tahoe trim lines and slightly more affordable than the premier trim lines.
@davep29454 жыл бұрын
As some have mentioned already the Suburban really needs to be 3/4 ton (2500) whatever you want to call it because the payload is far too low for the way most people I know who buy these things use them. People who buy the Suburban usually do so because they actually need the people hauling and cargo space and they often tow a boat or some ATV's. Heck, the people I know who have Suburbans tow a lot more than anyone I know who isn't in the trades does with heir truck. Anyway, put a 4 to 6 thousand pound boat and trailer, RV or ATV's?PWC's and you're down to somewhere between 800 and 1000 pounds of payload left. Now put five to six people in there (some may argue they are kids but kids can weight a lot before they can drive their own car) and you may not have a pound of payload left for luggage and other needed gear. When you build an SUV this large it should have the capacity to be fully utilized. Sure, people will overload them and not think a thing about it but should it break while overloaded you can bet GM isn't going to warranty the thing. And should you have an accident while overloaded insurance might not cover you. Yep, I know, everyone says wet blanket, dude, until they're stuck paying the bill.

Actually fuel economy is worst than last year 6.2L 2020 vs 6.2L 2021 (-1 mpg hwy)... I guess at that price you can probably afford "refueling at home" services especially since they reduce the fuel tank capacity on both models... 3 gallons less for the Sub & XL and 2 gallons less for the Tahoe & Yukon. On a road trip without too much load they shorten the fuel range by about 80 miles.

Ford goes to its customers for daily usage and design comments and suggestions, GM goes to its engineers. You can clearly see the difference in the direction both are going in their vehicles.

I dont see the MPGs ever getting much better than what they are. My 01 tahoe got around 20 on the highway with an earlier version of the 5.3l. It is what it is. A large vehicle with an old school pushrod V8 that are easy to work on and not too complicated. They are amazing. They could have a twin turbo v6 but that would just be more things to go wrong.

Other than the rake on the windshield, they dont look bad. The suburban looks much better without the wheel arches cutting into the doors. Space is impressive. As far ad efficiency. What do you want. They are massive heavy machines with old style pushrod v8s. 18 n 16 mpg average is pretty good for 2 giant trucks
