Yet another incredible review. You are the unbiased best in the business. As I think we all do at our level is we own a variety of different rods and different weights. Absolutely one of my favorite rods is my Thomas and Thomas 9 weight. In 20 years I have broken the rod twice due to my negligence. They repaired it both times and all I paid was shipping.

The composite rings at the top also tell you the rods weight. Initial end bit means 5wt…every additional ring is another wt added…so 2 rings of composite plus the end composite would be a 7wt

Curious how this compares - similar and different - to the original Mangrove? My buddy has an original Mangrove, which I like, so I know how that rod casts, and I would be in the market for one if that whatTFO still offered (Mangrove replaced by Mangrove Coast). I trust and value your opinions and perspectives, Ben! Thanks!

Could this be used for warmwater? Carp and bass? I seem to remember the og mangrove being popular with the bass community.

Hi there, with the casting in the video, was that done with a floating weight forward line? If not could you please tell us some basic information of the fly line that was used in the review? Great helpful video. I'll definitely get my next fly rod with you guys. And looking very likely to be the Mangrove Coast.

We used the SA Amplitude Bonefish in the video. It's a great presentation line and works wells with the Mangrove Coast's smooth, moderately-fast action. Glad you found the video informative!

Thanks a lot for the great review! It is very helpful. Does TFO Mangrove Coast like a true-to-weight line or overlining? What fly line would you recommend for this rod? Stay safe and well!

I have one and it respond to true line weight. I run a sage spectrum with high flip vis 8 weight and it’s awesome. Tight lines and Fair winds!
@Tridentflyfishing3 жыл бұрын
Allie, a true-to-weight line such as the RIO Elite Bonefish or SA Amplitude Bonefish is perfect for the Mangrove Coast. A slightly heavier redfish taper would be fine as well. Thanks for tuning in!
@SuperBluefin13 жыл бұрын
Hey Allie, the 8 weight is true to 8 weight line 200-240 grains as per TFO techs. You can get more info contacting TFO email. Single hand rods should have grain windows like two handed rods, that’s my two cents. B.B.

I like TFO because their rods and reels are a reasonable price for a normal working person …. I don’t want to spend 1500 dollars on a setup to go fly fish…. If you told a guy 50 years ago that you payed that much for a fly rod and reel you would be thrown off their boat
