I'm 32 years old in the Navy and when I get back from deployment I'm going to pursue my dream of Special Warfare. Whether it be SWCC or SEAL I am making it my goal. Thank you for posting this as it keeps my spirits up. I know that there is a waiver for anything and your video keeps me that much determined. Thanks. -MA3

Just swore in and enlisted and in the Delayed Entry Program and going in as EO (Equipment Operator). Im about turn 31 in Dec. Been training since since last year and I’m hoping I have a shot for this. I’m not sure if my recruiter will give me a chance or even work with me on this but I am definitely going to hold on to this and hope that it’s still in the realm of possibilities. Also 👍best video out there about age waivers for NSW. And good luck to anybody going for NSW in their 30s. Never Quit!

The Navy SEALs do not grant age waivers but, nonetheless, they accept and encourage females to join BUD/S training. Completely ridiculous and irresponsible.

Once again thank you guys! I’m a 27 year old prior service applicant. I seem to have struck gold with my recruiter. I contacted him after I had been training awhile, he had me come in for a mock PST, and has been meeting with me every 6-8 weeks for PST’s to get optimal number before he will schedule the official PST and submit the packet. Have my last mock next week. Could not have done it without all the information you guys have provided us with, thank you.

Sir's, What if you started it at a good age of 28 and was Marine Corps Pulley ready and had a waiver ready soon ! For the reserves and was 30 by the time he was able to get in but had to have a minor procedure done and was able to meet all requirements ? And was 31 turning 32 but was unmolded by anything his entire life other then work ? Would this qualify him for candidate enlist infantry school ? First time and dedicated ! Only had at focus on the brain department ! Education ! As in, needed to pass the Pre-ASVAB Test ! will study ! Family issues and resolved them ! Overcame all challenges put infront of me ! Wondering if they will accept me still ?! I have all paperwork and other assorted requirements filled ! God bless you all Sir's ! Sir's Sincerely Paul Hampton~ Sir's !...

Hi stew, apart from crushing the PST, foreign languages... does being a corpsman improve your chances for a waiver?
@StewSmith1822 жыл бұрын
NOt really - depends on how many SEALs they need to do medic training. THere are no longer corpsmen SEALs - they are SEALs with medic training.

Should I still be pushing for it? I crushed my pft 3 miles in 22mins, 6 pullups, 90 crunches in 2 mins, as a single parent I terminated my rights to full custody of child so I'm no longer legally a parent to make me eligible as documents state, single female age 32 no record, passed everything at meps, waiver was kicked back to Senior NCO and wouldn't tell me why it was kicked back. I gave up my child to be eligible, I did what they wouldn't do. I can't get my kid back.

I don't think it's really hard to understand there is misinformation misnomers and a stigma about age. Will you go to the store you want to buy something new you don't want to buy something old. It's completely ridiculous and violates discrimination laws that are actually in place. Look you can't discriminate against someone's ethnicity for one simple reason no one can change that it's superficial it's completely inadequate and does not properly separate those that will succeed in those that will fail. If you set the standards and I'm not talking you got to make that the man dance for his freedom . You shut the physical standards according to how those standards have been previously set and you expand them you don't expect a 45-year-old man a 50-year-old man and 55 year old man or greater so I have to prove him or herself by achieving standards of a 20 year old. The life experience and wisdom of older service members as a very powerful diversity into the ranks. There I was 2005 I was out of the Navy for 17 years it's age of 42 hear the report that retention in the Army was at its lowest of all times or whatever. So I went down to the recruiter and I know exactly what I wanted exactly where I was going to go exactly how it's going to be done. My original ASVAB scores were exactly where they needed to be well a little higher for the MOs that I chose. Because I was probably a service it was discharged as an E5 they allowed me to come in as a private first class E3. In QuickTime E4 another year E5.
@paulhogan23892 жыл бұрын
As soon as I made E5 I dropped my warrant officer packet and at the age of 45 years old was in warrant officer candidate School.. what's my training was complete I returned back to my unit and we deployed we return for deployment I was accepted as an active guard reserve soldier. It's 2016 at the age of 53 soon after returning from deployment I went through personal tragedy where my son was killed by a drunk driver no fault of his own. It was a very difficult time for me and I felt I could not function properly and that for the best interest of the army and myself I would resign. So now at the age of 59 I have gathered all my faculties completely mourned and grieved for the loss of my son and with three and a half years to go towards retirement I would very much like to return to the military and complete that short period of time. I would believe it to be best for the Army and myself not to seek a commission as a warrant officer and hold that position and just accept and it listed position. It would require a little to know expenses far as training and I would still be able to maintain my retirement as it would be based on the highest rank you held for 3 years so if I make the standards what can I do it. We're not talking about some new recruit we're talking about someone who knows the military and has the ability to adjust fire when you talk about putting on a new uniform woodland Green green okay I got it that's something that can be handled at the lowest of levels of a soldiers life.. now in 2005 when I relisted into the Army reserves you have to understand all my experience was United States Navy so I had realistic they gave me some uniforms I went to two monthly drills and we received the call would I like to go to my a school I said yes I received the paperwork and I was off to my MOS School. I was able to present myself to the only standards the requirements of the training command. I was incredibly successful my uniform was squared away my military bearing was to Army specifications and that successfully with ease graduated from my a school turning to my unit to detachment sergeant had told me I needed to go to a warrior transition School because some members of the military that come from a different branch have trouble reacting into Army rules and regulations as I should do with my graduation papers in my class A uniform looking snappy and confident. Did you text me sorry shook his head and said well we can forget that and then he hands me a book and a horn made of plastic that uses a battery to play taps. And since I was so squared away for the next month I would be the lead soldier in the funeral service that we do for military members that require two soldiers playing the flag presenting of the flag. I had no idea on that subject whatsoever but it was my job so within 24 hours I was proficient at that particular subject and anyone that would come with me and do the mission with me will be brought up to speed quick time. Too easy another home run at the park success we did two funerals two different guys work with me and it was superb. Now I have served during the Cold war stood up and volunteered my service to the country when so many others were afraid to do so. Is that not enough to prove my loyalty integrity my potential my commitment. And if it is why am I being discriminated against because of my age you take that thing and tear it up it has nothing to do with the kind of soldier and man I am. Facing a criteria on someone's age should only pertain to the legal age the age where an individual can make their own decisions. Being able to say across the board that we do not discriminate against our soldiers and that we provide one of the best work environments that could possibly be in respect to the value of each individual soldier that serves. You can't just pick and choose.
