@TFTCentral. I just received my MPG 321URX and am having an issue with the HDR peak 1000 setting. Every time I turn on HDR in windows 11 and am on the peak 1000 mode, the screen becomes overly saturated with a yellow hue. I am able to use the peak 400 setting without issues. I have updated both the firmware (from 2/27/24) and my NVIDIA driver (from 3/5/24). I am running an RTX 4090. Wondering something. I used the monitor for the first time for 3h30m and then turned off my computer for about 4hrs. Later I turned on my computer again and the monitor wanted to do a Panel Protect after 30 minutes. I was confused why it didn't do it automatically when I had turned off my computer the first time. I let it run and after a few minutes the monitor went into Standby mode and didn't wake up. I had to manually turn it on. Why is that? Doesn't Panel Protect run automatically when the monitor is turned off, even if the 4hr limit hasn't been reached? I read somewhere that System Setting -> Power Button must be switched to Off for this to work but I thought it was a default setting. Also, what does Tools -> Power Setting -> Auto Shutdown do? I noticed that my monitor turned itself off while playing a game with a lot of cinematics where no user input is required (it woke up when I used the mouse).

Questions: * can you change brightness in hdr mode? * can you control brightness/color mode over DCC/CI ? But nothing I could address to in terms of specifications). I did, however figured out that it's related to the led backlight. Last year I managed to buy a year 21 model of Samsung tv, to which I managed to get used to. But it happened only when I switched all of the lightbulbs in my house to the old 100w ones. Last "gaming"(I did try Dell's office monitor to have the same problem, if not worse) monitor was Samsung's G7 or something. There I noticed one thing - turning off gsync reduced the problem dramatically. This year I want to give OLED a try and wandering if I have a chance to move from a BenQ monitor, which I've used since 2012.

@@tftcentral Great, you do a great job. I thought it would be the same except that the resolution changes, so I plan to apply the same user setting to test it. These days I have been on the verge of returning it because of some horizontal lines that magically disappeared in the 10th pixel update and because of the yellowish white, but after investigating they told me that it is because the color is very beautiful and that is how it must be and the lines I hope they do not return to appear since they were noticeable in any color not only in the 5%-10% gray

Guys, I have a problem with this monitor when using PS5. I use the HDMI-cable that came with the monitor. It stutters a lot even when VRR is turned on on the PS5 + 120 hz mode, and adaptive sync is active on the monitor itself. It's like there is "no sync" between the refresh rate and the frame rate at all. Have tried to disable HDCP on the PS5, didn't help. Tried other cables, didn't help. VRR works like a charm on PC...

Hey, i got a question, im looking for a new 27 inch gaming monitor to play mostly Fps games on ps5 and definitly im lost. Without oled and 4k there is literaly no good 1440p lcd panels choices with full HDMI 2.1.. Should i go for a 4k monitor when i will mostly play on 1440p ? Or oled and i go live under a bridge ? 😅 Please help me and excuse my english im french 😆 Btw thanks for all your content 👌
@tftcentral7 ай бұрын
If you’re playing at 1440p you won’t really need full speed HDMI 2.1 anyway so even those with HDMI 2.0 speed ports should be ok to support 1440p at 120Hz. Have you def ruled out getting an OLED?
@yvory16007 ай бұрын
@@tftcentral but i heard that in some cases the vrr Can be important when FPS drops (like 120 to 80 for exemple) is it true ? I dont know if its a good idea to buy an Oled right now or waiting few years to pick one or a mini led instead ? Thx for you answer btw
@tftcentral7 ай бұрын
It can be useful but I wouldn’t say it’s vital. Some HDMI 2.0 speed monitors will also support VRR, although those tend to be marketed as supporting that. It’s a bit more widespread for Xbox as well as that can support the older alternative FreeSync over HDMI too for VRR. The PS5 needs HDMI-VRR to support that feature

Can you help with HDR of the monitor for AC Valhalla game? With HDR1000, it looks too dim and washed out vs HDR400.

That’s strange. It should be able to reach higher brightness but perhaps you’re just noticing the ABL dimming more drastically?

@tftcentral Horizon Zero Dawn looks very good with HDR1000. For Valhalla, I use 1000 nits setting in-game with everything as default. Even if I increase in-game exposure to 1.0 - still too dark and washed out. Also, besides games, virtual sdr is too dim vs HD400 in browser even if I set SDR in HDR slider to 100% in Windows

@tftcentral6 ай бұрын
@Dx-so7jm ok I think I know what’s happening probably. Imagine the game modes and pro modes were all in a single menu list instead of being split in to two sections. Whichever you activate last will be the one active. So make sure you’re selecting the relevant pro mode as the one active (ie user). Ignore the game modes. If you have HDR enabled all the time (not recommended) then windows desktop will actually emulate the SDR /sRGB colour space so that will explain why it looks less colourful and more dull. Certainly more so than if you were using user mode but in SDR with HDR turned off. But when you play actual HDR content it should render back in the full native colour space again as intended
@Dx-so7jm6 ай бұрын
@@tftcentral wow , I didn't know I needed so much help to figure out a monitor , thanks for the help , so I should not activate HDR in Windows ? Isn't that necessary for gaming in hdr ?
@tftcentral6 ай бұрын
@Dx-so7jm we’d recommend only enabling it in windows when you want to view actual HDR content. Some games will actually trigger HDR mode without you needing to have activated it in windows. You should be able to tell by the monitor OSD if it’s moved in to HDR mode or not. There’s a handy keyboard shortcut (win + Alt +B) as well to enable/disable HDR for you in windows More info on the topic here tftcentral.co.uk/articles/heres-why-you-should-only-enable-hdr-mode-on-your-pc-when-you-are-viewing-hdr-content

When i use pc for gaming i just set up sRGB mode but for console gaming have I set up user mode with HDR 1000nits on in order to get true HDR on consoles? I have to switch every time I'm going to play on console right?
@tftcentral7 ай бұрын
For now the SDR and HDR modes don’t independently remember which “pro mode” you want for each, it’s a single universal setting. So if you want to use the sRGB emulation mode in SDR from Pc, you’ll need to manually switch that from sRGB to User When you play console games in HDR. there’ll be an update at some point which fixes the need to do that I’m sure

I got my 321URX, tried it out for 30 minutes and returned it. Reason? The text is just not crisp enough and the monitor is lacking brightness. I'm comparing it to the built-in macbook pro 14" display and LG 27UK850-W (27" 4K IPS monitor). Don't get me wrong, for gaming 321URX would work well (I tried CS2 for 10 minutes, it was epic), but for design and producitity work it was just too blurry and dark for me.

The text clarity is very good on these new 4K QD-OLED screens. Perhaps you were using a weird mode with accentuated sharpness, or something else odd.
