this song is about struggle did you not just listen to him about the first line he wrote about being just under the upper hand..."angel" didn't prostate to do drugs...she did drugs because she prostates....life is a giant struggle and the drugs were for coping...this song is brilliant I have seen and met some of the homeless in California and a lot of people don't realize most don't choose to be there, they just need a push this song brings awareness and its amazing, good job!

7 year old comment but if you think she only did drugs because she was prostituting and not the other way around you clearly have never been addicted to drugs. People will do whatever it takes to get that high back

I'm just under the upper hand since 2 years with my mental illness... Every day I'm fighting to get better, ups and downs, but slowly getting more and more sick but not wanting to go to psychiatry again... never heard this "under the upper hand" thing before, it's such a good phrase...

I applaud him for not just writing cheesy songs about love like One Direction. There are enough of those on the air. He write a thought-provoking song about something topical that makes us all think

This video is the reason why I am unsubscribing to TG ... both the You tube page and from the magazines. I shouldn't be surprised that every now and then that TG publish things that I'm not interested in. But this is a joke, Ed Sheeran is a joke and I don't care about being thumbs down'd or what ever some jumped arsehole thinks. TG used to be about good gear and album reviews and the best of guitar not this.

The fact that you portray yourself as a music guru, but all you are is some typical metal head that strictly only listens to Cannibal Corpse and guitar solos that all sound the same. You can't see the true and raw beauty behind music, all music. Being a musician or just loving music alone and not even playing instruments goes so much further than the sound of the song. When you step back and listen to the words and the authenticity of what you're hearing about, what story is being told, that's when you understand. I agree, a lot of music, especially today's music is flat out horrible and just speaks on raw dogging and getting trashed. That's not genuine or even talent. But The A Team is a damn good song all the way around and in my opinion, and this is coming from someone who plays bass guitar, drums, stand up bass, sax, clarinet, and banjo and also listens to Janis Joplin to Dr. Dog to J Cole, Bad Brains, Slipknot, Whitechapel, Hendrix, Skynard, you name it. There's a wide variety of different genres I can tell you almost everything about, but in my honest opinion, Ed Sheeran is a lyrical genius and The A Team is one of those songs that has a intense way of pulling your heart strings.
