Love these MAN engines, although they seem to have a lack of lights, their loud siren is enough to get everyone's attention :D
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses5 жыл бұрын
They’re pretty cool, and I agree on the lights (although my camera doesn’t pick up all the strobe flashes). But that was pretty much standard lighting when they were delivered in 2006. The siren gets your attention for sure, one of the loudest I’ve ever heard! 😆👍🏼

That isn't a siren at all; it is a pair of horns. A siren is either a rotary device powered by electromechanical or other means or an electronic device.
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses5 жыл бұрын
Definition of a siren: A device that makes a loud prolonged sound as a signal or warning. Enough said.
@infinitecanadian5 жыл бұрын
@@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses Oh, I see. So (according to your description) a bell is a siren. So is a gong. Hell, so is someone yelling over a loudspeaker.
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses5 жыл бұрын
infinitecanadian Sure, every place has its own style. They actually do that in Japan, automated loudspeaker instructions to drivers are standard there for ambulances, and it works well :)
@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses5 жыл бұрын
infinitecanadian It’s not ‘my description‘, it is the standard definition of a siren. Look it up. And yes a compressed air powered horn is considered a very common type of siren in Germany.
@infinitecanadian5 жыл бұрын
@@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses You are amongst the minority of people who consider horns to be sirens. It is historically recognized that sirens were invented somewhat before 1799; long before then horns existed, and if you say that a vehicle has a siren, very few people will ever think that you are talking about a horn. I can even go over the differing principles between the two devices, but most people get the idea.
