The only thing that I would add or ‘modernize’ is to add the word police on the front, back, and sides. Although it is recognizable for most people, I find it problematic that the vehicle is not clearly marked as a police car.

Thanks for this great video, I was in San Francisco a few years ago, and really enjoyed the visit, I was taking some photos of three Police bikes, and my only regret was I should have asked the officer if I could sit on one of the bikes, to this day I believe he would have said yes, he was a very friendly officer, it was across the road from my hotel in Geary St, I hope to be able to come back one of these days, best regards from Australia, Les

Nice catches. I hope one day, you'll get footage of their rare Dodge Magnum patrol car. Aside from the Crown Vics, they still got some older vehicles driving around. So far, I've seen a 1999 Chevy Tahoe and a early 90's Chevy Suburban on patrol. The latter vehicle I thought was a decomissioned unit until I saw the uniformed officers inside.

I actually saw the Dodge Magnum parked outside a police station!! 😆 But was on a bus at the time so couldn’t take any video. Yea I’m pretty sure I also saw one of those 90s SUVs on patrol somewhere in the distance. It’s crazy how old some of the vehicles in the SFPD fleet are!

You should consider going to Las Condes, Santiago, Chile. Active firetruck zone near the river and ambulance and the carabineros. You might like it. Look for the American embassy and you will be in the active area.

They are more than 20 years old in some cases, but they work well. The SFPD does not seem to have the budget to replace all of them yet, although they have recently invested in many new patrol cars. Many police officers also prefer to drive the old Crown Vics. They are very reliable cars.
