Asta's first mission they kill Magna's mentor and then 4 guys kill themselves. Then they attack the capital and turn people into zombies who they killed hence the pile of bodies Valtos was hiding in. If you noticed, all the Spade army's magic is derived from human organs. The Dark Triad have blood, body, and bone magic. Vanica's henchmen have diverse ones like Eye, Skin, Tongue, Nail, Hair, etc...

This arc has just begun, unfortunately when the anime was being made, they completely caught up to manga. (Which is why the filler arc from 125~to 157 was made, so manga can catch up). Hopefulyl the anime will get picked up again and we will finally get the finale of the Spade kingdom arc.
