People can say what they want about season 4's plot holes, but in terms of villain motivation it was the most sophisticated and morally gray. Like, what they were ostensibly aiming for was understandable and made more sense than 'let's destroy the world'. And even though there are 3 of them and it would have been easy to make them super cardboard considering it was just a filler arc, all of Dartz's henchmen are super distinct and have actual personalities. And Alister's backstory is among the most tragic in the Yugioh canon, which is saying something.

Always thought that DOMA was a reference to Alexandre Dumas the writer of the three musketeers which are presented in the original version of the anime by Raphael, Amelda and Valon. And Dartz name is inspired by Dartagnan.

No, the army deck fit Alister because of his tragic past. The armor deck fit Valon more because he liked to get in physical fights when he was in juvenile hall.

its funny but if those two had swapped decks they probably would have toasted Kaiba and Joey. Valon's armor deck would have blown away all of Kaiba's high attack monsters and Alisters army deck would have tactically pinned down all of joey's useful combo's.
