This topic has confused me for a while so I'm glad I stumbled upon your video. I think I was able to understand everything... .Common - Standard card name (i.e. standard black). No holographic art. .Rare - Silver/bronze/shiny card name. No holographic art..Parallel Rare - Holographic background effect like that of stars, smashed glass etc .Super Rare - Normal card name colour (i.e. standard black). Holographic art..Ultra Rare - Golden card name. Holographic art..Ultimate Rare - Golden card name. Holographic art. Embossed. .Secret Rare - Holographic rainbow card name. Holographic art work. .Ultra Secret Rare - Confusing. I have no idea. A mish-mash of the above though no embossing? .Holographic Rare - Ghostly / inverted colours with strong holographic art. .Parallel Rares (more) - Confusing. I have no idea. Does everything except suck you off. .Gold Rare - Gold coloured holographic effect over the entire card. And of course many head exploding variants. Personally It’s almost like the cards themselves should have a little symbol to identify intended rarity *shrug* Shiny things are nice.

The secret rare are called starlight rares now with the weird designs on them. Also I think since they don't guarantee anything per pack. If u buy a box of say genesis impact. U get 15 super rare and can get 15 above but yeah the starlight rare is still hard to get one per box

I'll keep my vanguard rarirties thank you very much C (Common) R (Single Rare) RR (Double) RRR (Triple) SP (Special Parallel) GR/LR (Generation/Legion) SCR (Secret) SGR (Secret Generation) VR (Vanguard) SVR (Secret Vanguard) IR (Image) Some of these dont exist anymore (SCR, SGR, LR and soon GR) but they're easier to understand and are even shown at the bottom corner of the card after the set number (it had to be this way since older cards didn't change art in alternate rarities and it wasn't until a Certain point that higher rarity cards had transparent text boxes and no flavor text) so you don't need a guide to know what rarity your cards are since they're spelled out for you on them

By playing master duel, I understood one thing about these rarities, they don't really classify these are rarities as card rarity but foil types rarity, thus the true rarity of a card, or chance of getting a certain card, should be: rarity/chance of the card * rarity/chance of the foil, thus making the things even more complex that what the video implied

I always thought the "only rares get shiny pictures" was konamis dumbest idea. symbols in a set spot on the card are easy and you can always update or add, mtg did that when they added mythic rarity. just a pallete swap of orangish with gold being normal rare. but that all said, there's something special about foiling out your entire deck so everythings shiny as a strange flex when you take it to a tourny. even if its tge worst crap ever, the foiled flex still feels good.

secret rares and prismatic secret rares were always my favorite due to how beautiful and striking some of them looked...and the fact that in the old days with the first booster packs,nobody knew they even existed until poeple started pulling them...when i was a kid,i made it my mission to get the "000" of every main booster pack that came out. but yeah there are a few other types of rarities Platinum rares:like gold rares,only the names are either in brighter reflective silver,or rainbow (as well as the borders) and the whole card is holocraphic...as far as i recall,this only exists in the TCG "Knights of the round table" set secret normal rares...(sometimes called secret commons) which refers to a "rarity' that is the result of a misprint where a common rare card's name has the rainbow lettering of a secret rare. Hunter dragon is a well known example of this.

I have this card leviathan dragon. I pulled out of a galaxy eyes tin booster pack. And to this day have no clue what kind of rarity it is. It’s holographic is kind of matte and rough. And it actually has a texture to the halo graphic design where is you run your finger nail over it (I don’t recommend) you can feel the image of the card. I wish I can show a picture but I have no clue what it is and no one seems to talk about that version of halographic.
