Shark’s Ace is most definitely Number 32: Shark Drake. It gets the Summoning Animation in Duel Links, it gets a Chaos variant upgrade, he gets a ton of moments talking with the monster, that’s his Ace. Nash, on the other hand, has 2 Aces. Before he became a Barian, back in ancient times, his Ace was Number 73: Abyss Splash. However, as the leader of the Barian Warlords, his Ace is Number 101: Silent Honor ARK. Pretty much all the other Barians work like that, too. They have an ace Number monster as a human, then an ace Number monster as a Barian.

i respectfully disagree; i think shark's ace is black ray lancer instead - shark has been predominantly featured with black ray lancer a lot - black ray lancer was the card that shark played against yuma in their 2nd duel using it to destroy utopia allowing his aero shark to direct atk winning the duel - it was the card that won him the tag duel alongside yuma against rikuo and kaio (aka scorch and chill in the dub) - he uses this card in multiple important duels of which some didnt even see shark drake too such as against rio, another duel against yuma and even abyss - after barian hope was destroyed in his final duel against yuma the monster the writers chooses to have him fall back on was black ray lancer - armored xyz is associated with shark and as far as im aware every instant of it in the anime involved black ray lancers in some way from equipping something else to it or being equipped and this carries over into real life too with the exception of xyz armor torpedo all xyz armor or full armored xyz monsters are essentially either this monster equipped with or being equipped by another monster - c101 dark knight is essentially a barian version of black ray lancer as theyre both black armored figures with magenta accents wielding a lance as their weapon of choice

I'd argue that Number 39: Utopia was Astral's ace as it's the one Number he still had with him when he joined Yuma and it is the focus of his Deck when he duels without Yuma (including ranking up into Utopic Dragon). For Yuma I'd probably go for Rainbow Kuriboh as it is the card he falls back on when he is forced to fight alone. It is also a card that used to belong to Yuma's father. Nasch's ace is Number 101: Silent Honor Ark

Would have though Gagaga Magician would be Yuma's personal ace, as he's had it as his focus card from day one and eventually crafts his deck around it. Utopic Future & Gagaga Cowboy would be more like personal boss monsters, as he doesn't have that much else in his ED that isn't some kind of other utility (One-Eyed Skill Gainer, Gauntlet Launcher, Heroic Champion - Excalibur, the Djinns, etc) because Number Monsters are out of the picture, that all goes to Astral apart from UF. Also, for Shark, I can see Shark Drake getting the spot but a strong contender is Black Ray Lancer, as it's the card that gets all the upgrades and takes up more a chunk of his time as a duelist. Like I don't see Shark Drake getting XYZ armour and getting shot out of a fishy cannon.

I consider Gagaga Magician to be the Junk Synchron in Yuma’s deck, because by that logic, Junk Synchron would be Yusei’s Ace. They are enablers to get out the real Ace Monsters (be it the Gagaga Xyz Monsters and Utopia, or Junk Warrior (other Junk Synchro Monsters) and Stardust Dragon). That being said, yes, I agree that Black Ray Lancer is Shark’s true Ace Monster. He used it to defeat Utopia in his second Duel with Yuma and even combined with Utopia afterwards.

A lot of people would say Number 101 is Nasch's ace but I'd say it is Abyss Splash. It is his Mytherian Number and is used in more duels than Number 101. He even uses it along with Zexal's Utopia to defeat Don Thousand's Number iC1000 which had 100k ATK and an effect by detaching 1 material that was essentially Draining Shield. His ultimate boss monster is Barian Hope though so maybe Number 101 is.

With Shark, his ace changes many times throughout the series. First it was Back Ray Lancer until he got Shark Drake. After the WDC, Shark rarely duelled, he just kinda hung out but when he did duel, he used Shark Drake. Then he got his previous life’s ace monster Abyss Splash. This was his original ace when he was an ancient king and he used it to defeat Vector in a shadow duel. I would argue Abyss Splash remained his ace card with Silent Horror Ark being his ace boss monster and Barian Hope being the final boss monster.

As much as Yuma gets flak for only using Utopia more than other Numbers, there are two big reasons why I’m personally not against it. 1. Telling Yuma to not using Utopia is the same as telling Kite and Zane to stop use Galaxy Eyes and Cyber End Dragon. It’s his Ace Monster (and Astral’s). 2. It makes Yuma being forced to fight Utopia in the final duel with Astral much more impactful. 2:21 I think Yuma got Gagaga Cowboy way later down the line after Yuma got Utopia. So I don’t count Cowboy (or any Xyz Monsters that isn’t Utopia or Utopic Future). He does have Heroic Champion - Excalibur that was given to him though. If you want to count him. 3:26 Again. Name ONE duel (flashbacks excluded) that Kite never summoned Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon… 7:07 Considering that Anna would get a Number Card and an evolved form of Gustav Max, Anna ended up being more popular than I thought, because I honestly don’t like her that much. 10:51 Many people wish Yuma used more Numbers like Shark, but Shark is more complex character than Yuma. Yuma on the other hand is more of a simple character. That’s why Yuma sticks with Utopia the most why Shark has many Ace Monsters. I think Black Ray Lancer is his definitive ace. As he use it in the final duel with Yuma even as Nasch.

Considering Gagaga Cowboy appears in the artwork of Re-Xyz (a card he uses much prior), I'm assuming he had it in the backpocket of his 7000 card extra deck the entire show, considering how much of an onomat fan he is. The main reason Yuma gets flak (saying this as a big Zexal fan) is because Yuma has such a colossal array of Xyz at hand for any situation, whereas the other characters have a much smaller cardpool of boss monsters and aces. Kite not using GEPD doesn't make sense, his deck is designed to turbo it out, whereas Yuma's deck (counting every card we've seen) is designed to Xyz Summon damn near any Level (1-7 from what I know and I'm sure 8-12 are possible) and he just goes Rank 4 Utopia 90% of the time Edit: And the excuse of ''Maybe he doesn't draw those cards'' wouldn't make sense because this is an anime that, by design, can orchestrate Yuma having any combination of Level 1-8 Monsters in his starting hand for more interesting boss monsters.

On the point of the zane and kite situation, you could easily let zane not use Cyber end dragon as he would later get the cyberdarks and chimeratech. Kite on the otherhand can't play w/o GEPD as most of the cards pay off is GEPD unlike Yuma who has alternative archetypes and most of which dont require utopia being on the field or used as material or even as a search target for most of them.

I would actually say that yuma's ace is GAGAGA magician, as it stays with him and is the core of the gagaga arcatype allowing hik to make his plays, and astral's ace us utpoia. The final ep really shows this as yuma uses magician to start his plays whereas astral uses utpoia.

For the shark/Nasch question, he cycles through ALOT of "ace" monsters so it may be for the best that you dont know them all, yet at least lol Before any number card his Ace would be Black Ray Lancer, who even after he got other monsters, always stuck around. He even used it in his and yumas final duel Theres a case for Submersible Carrier Areo Shark as well as that is his first Xyz monster and he does use alot as well Theres, like you said, Number 32 Shark Drake. Who while on yumas side, was his ace monster and main go to for all the main enemy fights As Nasch, his number was Number 101 Silent Honor Ark and its chaos form, Silent Honor Dark And then theres his past lifes number which he does get and use in the present and is honestly the monster that won the duel against Don Thousand due to its effect, Number 73 Abyss Splash Dude is in contention for having the most Aces in yugioh I swear

you should watch yugioh zexal all the way through. it's my favorite series and it got me into YuGiOh. the numbers cards were my favorite because they could only be destroyed by other numbers meaning yuma had a good reason for always using his ace and they were good villains of the week. by the end of the series, you could see how much Yuma grew as a duelist. plus it had banger openings.

As for Shark vs Nasch. The thing about the Barian lords is that all of their aces were the number monsters that were over number 100. Nasch's was Number 101: Silent Honor Ark. The other things you may not have known, is that they also technically had aces that you almost never see them play, but is significant to them for story reasons. Nasch Human form - Number 73: Abyss Splash Dumon Human form - Number 44: Sky Pegasus Marin Human Form - Number 94: CrystalZero Vector Human Form - Number 65: Djinn Buster Alito Human Form - Number 54: Lion Heart Girag Human Form - Number 64: Ronin Raccoon Sandayu Mizar Human Form - Number 46: Dragluon Dont read past this if you don't want spoiler as i will explain why these are here. Basically, the Barian lords had human lives before becoming Barian lords, but have no memory of this. So as far as they know, they have always been Barians. These unique number monsters actually reminded them of their pasts. When fighting against them, they were shows the altered past that Don thousand inflicted upon them, just for the sake of making them barian lords to help his revival. But when they were defeated by them, they were shown the whole truth, seeing how their reason everything they were was wrong. Seeing the truth that Don Thousand had tricked them this whole time. The only one that actually wasn't tricked was Nasch. He was close companions with most of them in life, and had a heroic and noble death, which even Astral noted should have sent him to the Astral world (heaven). Nasch CHOSE to be a barian to be with his fallen comrades. Now, the reason Nasch and Marin reincarnated as Shark and Ryo is becuase of Vector. Vector basically knocked them off their throne with his tricky ways and this somehow made them human again. (This is where i honestly start to lose what in the world happened here, as it's wierd) SO Before the show even started. Shark and ryo were current incarnations of Nasch and Marin, they existed at the same time while Nasch and Marin were in the Barian world. Shark and Ryo had a terrible car accident (should note that they were young kids as the time) and actually died, but this happened roughly at the same time that Nasch and Marin were tricked by vector and knocked down. This somehow lead them to possessing their current incarnations' bodies(?) and just lived as Shark and Ryo for a while. Then through some careful observation from Dumon, he realized that his energy was weird and figured out that Shark must've been Nasch, who they ahd been looking for some time, as they didn't know that Vector was the reason they disappeared in the first place.

So just to clarify, good list for all of them, however with shark/nash and vector, I would classify their ace mosters more toward black ray Lancer if not then shark drake, but I mainly chose Lancer due to him using it in the finale of the series, for vector I would say his boss is really more the spell card RUM barians force, because he uses multiple xyz monsters in the series around once but a majority of his duels he uses RUM to power up his boss monster, masquerade is his barian card, but only uses it once, and also vector pretty much orchestrated the RUM cards towards each villain of the week characters in the show

I've noticed an ATK similarity for the Boss monsters of the best friend/ 3rd main male duelist. The 3rd main male duelist is some times the best friend or sometimes a close friend who has a friendly rivalry with the protagonist. they all have a boss monster (which is sometimes the ace card for some or just the monster with the highest ATK) with an ATK of 2800 OG: Joey Wheeler - Gilford the Lightning (Boss) GX: Bastion Misawa - Water Dragon (Ace and Boss) 5D's: Crow Hogan - Blackwing Dragon (Ace and Boss) Zexal: Shark - Numer 32: Shark Drake (Ace) Arc-V: Sora Perse - Frightfur Chimera (Boss) Vrains: Soulburner - Salamangreat Pyro Phoenix (Boss) Gilford was Joey's best card in battle city where he didn't have Red Eyes and is canonically the series final arc. As for GX I Consider Bastion the 3rd because Season 1 implied Bastion was planned to be bigger then he was. Also the best friend, Cyrus feels more like a sidekick instead of a main character. He beat Chazz and Jaden considered him a rival. Plus it goes with the Trinity. Jaden/slypher, Chazz/obalisk and Bastion/Rah. I know Yuma's best friend is Bronk, but my point is about the #rd most important duelst of each series and in Zexal it's clearly Shark. Arc-V Is pretty much the same. Yuya's best friend is Gong, who is a Lancer isn;t quite good enough to be considered the main ines. The best duelist on the Lancers other than Yuya and Declen was Shun. But he was Yuto's Friend not Yuya's and Sora, who while not technically a Lancer was a major ally for them because of his friendship with Yuya and was the first and very few people who actually defeated Shun.

Shark’s official Ace for most of the show is Shark Drake, but as Nasch his ace is Silent Honors Ark Knight/Dark Knight, with Abyss Splash as a sort of secondary ace. Shark Drake represents his friendship with Yuma, Abyss Splash represents his past life, and Ark/Dark Knight represents his duty as a Barian. Hence why he stops using Shark Drake after learning his identity as Nasch, as he was resolved to do away with his friendship with Yuma

@TGSAnime I was watching your Kaibaman Vs Jaden Yuki Duel video and noticed how in a very specific way, Jaden could've won the Duel on Turn 3. He didn't at the end of the day, but I found it intriguing. On Turn 1, instead of just ending his turn with Bubble Blaster equipped to Bubbleman, he could've also set the Edge Hammer. Kaibaman's Turn would stay the same. During Jaden's turn, he fuses Mudballman in attack position. He then activates Monster Reincarnation, discarding his Necroshade to add back Bubbleman. Using Necroshade's GY effect, he Normal Summons Bladedge. He then uses Edge Hammer's effect to destroy Blue Eyes and deal 3000 damage. He then attacks directly with Mudballman for game. Jaden could've won if he was dueling at 100%, which just adds on how much losing to Zane shook him.

you could say that utopia is astral's ace monster, because the reason why yuma has utopia in the first place is because of astral. when astral isn't around to aid Yuma. best example of this is the final duel, where Astral was the one who was summoning out all of the different forms of Utopia, not Yuma

Honestly, it's kinda hard to pin down which monster is Shark's ace. His first ace before the Numbers appeared is definitely Black Ray Lancer. After some progress, his new ace gonna be Shark Drake. After regains his Barian memories, his ace could be Silent honor ARK. But Number 73 could be considered his ace as well, since it's sharing a spiritual connection with him.

Technically most of the Numbers monsters are a part of Astral's soul/memories, but time and time again, it's been proven or at least implied that Utopia specifically is the one that truly represents Astral in this regard, hence why it has multiple different forms and upgrades. I think pre final episode, Yuma's Ace could be Gagaga Magician. It's used in almost every duel to start his Xyz combos. Shark has 3 Aces. In most the series it's Number 32: Shark Drake, but he literally never uses it after he gets Number 73: Abyss Splash. And then when he embraces Nasch it becomes Number 101: Silent Honor ARK (which if you use all the capital letters spells out SHARK). Notably the Seven Barian Emperors all have alternate Ace Monsters from when they were human. Nasch was the previously mentioned No. 73, Durbe with Number 44: Sky Pegasus, Merag with Number 94: Crystalzero, Vector with Number 65: Djinn Buster, Alito with Number 51: Lion Heart, Girag with Number 64: Ronin Raccoon Sandayu, and Mizael with Number 46: Dragluon. I would make the argument that for Yuma his ace would be Gagaga Cowboy as when the two had their final duel it was the one that he would go into to help clear out Astral field of Utopia. And I would make the claim that Astral ace would still be Utopia given how he can still go into that without Yuma on several occasions where as Utopic Dragon and Roots would be his boss monsters. Also Shark and Nash will Be different given How Nash is the true awakening Shark like like Marin is to Rio. And Nash Ace monster is #73 Abyss Splash when he was human, Number 101 Silent Honors arc as a barian, and his Boss monster is CXyz Barian Hope.

Roku’s ace monster is Arcana Knight Joker, in the anime when Yuma is about to run away from his friends and family to save the world, Roku stops him and challenges him to a duel, showcasing Fusion summoning in the anime for the first time by using King’s, queen’s, and Jacks knight to make Arcana knight joker, it’s his only extra deck card from what I have seen.

For shark when he's Nash his ace is 101 if I remember correctly, because for the seven Berrian emperors they had an ace before they changed into a Berrian and an ace for after they changed, the ace for after is a number above 100 and is in order of when they were converted before the first episode of the show. The other aces of the Berrian emperors are called the mytherian numbers.

I wish Shark Drake got more attention. In part 1 of Zexal it was Shark's Ace and in part 2 it was forgotten. The card needed more forms, since it's evolved form ability can't always be used. How cool would it have been in Number 101 and Shark Drake had a fusion to represent the 2 sides of Shark. Also as much as I like Shark and the whole plotline of him being Nash I felt like the reveal came out of nowhere since there was no hints in part 1. It was basically the writers didn't to find a new way to make him relevant to the new story of part 2.

Roku said that the statue decks where wooden training decks. Later in the series when Roku and Yuma duel outside the sanctuary, Roku summons Arcana Knight Joker using the 3 face knights (King's, Queen's, Jack's knight). So I feel like Arcana Knight Joker might be his ace/boss monster.

I feel like there’s an argument to be made that the Barians’ ace monsters are their Chaos counterparts. I understand they are much more “Boss Monster” territory however the primary strategy all Barians seem to do is Rank Up/Skip over their original Number cards to become their Chaos counterparts. That does imply the original forms HAVE to be in their decks to begin with but at the same time their Chaos forms have always been with them as well. Plus it makes sense considering “Chaos” is the power used by the Barians so they’d wanna use the monsters that best reflect the use of Chaos energy. I personally believe if the chaos version is what they want to go into each time, if that card is their goal, that is their ace card.

For Astral's ace, I thought it'd be Number 39: Utopia Roots since he's the source of all Number monsters, the _Root_ cause if you will. It does create a duality between his and Yuma's individual ace, if Astral is the root of Numbers, then Yuma is the future of Numbers, which is represented by his ace Number F0: Utopic Future.

I like the idea of splitting the Ace of Yuma and Astral into what you said, whereas when they come together, THAT'S where Utopia shines. Good call! I definitely agree with everything else EXCEPT for a couple things. One, Trey's ace is not Maccu Mech. I don't blame you for saying that, but I definitely think it is instead Chronomaly Atlandis. It's the one we see more often later on and gets the upgraded chaos form so like, yeah I'd personally give Atlandis the title of Trey's ace. Two, Shark is hard to pin down isn't he? Shark Drake is certainly a CONTENDER, yes, but I feel like he cycles through ace monsters a lot depending on the story arc. Shark Drake as you said, yes, but also Submersible Carrier Aero Shark, as well as Black Ray Lancer. Shark Drake and Black Ray Lancer are also heavily featured with him in various intros, so I'd argue those two are kinda tied for his ace. Three, for Shark's Nasch persona, this one is actually extremely easy, It's 101 Silent Honor Ark, or alternatively it's Chaos form, C101 Silent Honor Dark. one could make a case that 101 is his ace while C101 is his boss, but I'm going to have to disagree given how rarely he uses 101, usually using Rank Up Magic the Seventh One to turbo STRAIT to C101, so I'd argue it's one of those monsters that shares the title of Ace and Boss at the same time.

I will say Number 6 is Trey's ace since he evolved it. But Leo is clear a boss monster. Quattro enjoys making his opponents suffer and Leo is more like a last resort to try to win while Giant Killer (not sure what was the TCG name) serves more to the purpose of dealing damage
