It makes my chest ache. It makes me want to guard this man's happiness from every possible harm. On a completely different note, Paul is a tsundere to Disney music is not the take I was expecting but it is the one I will accept.

@@bronwen7662 viewers are divided by whether Paul was indeed infected at the end or iff he was faking it to avoid being murdered. Jon has only confirmed that the writers wanted to leave it ambiguous but he had a particular acting choice for the show

I'm so happy that he mentioned "Confrontation" from the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde musical, since one of the reasons I love "Let it out" so much is because of how much it reminds me of that song! :D Jon Matteson truly nailed that performance, and that's why it's still my favorite part of the whole show.

I’m a senior in high school next year, and it’ll be my last musical with this theater group of 4 years. His answer at 19:59 makes me think that Jon’s infamous acting choice lent itself to Paul being turned. Through the course of the musical, the world changes and he can’t conform to the typical office worker life before. It’s all about the experiences for growth. Paul is realizing that feelings are normal and acceptable as he grows a love for Emma, and his secret subconscious love for musicals emerges. As Jon mentioned earlier, being true to yourself is key, and I think that’s the big takeaway from this show. Anyway, this really makes me think Paul was turned.
